Stock 460 rods

This is a 15 year old crate engine from Ford that may have 2000 miles on it. Previous owner had it in a 4x4 and it was to much for him and then it sat for many years till I got our car running. So far I have been 10.62 @ 124 mph. The question I have is how hard can I turn the engine with the crate motor rods. The reason I ask is we are looking at having Charlie and Lem work their magic this winter but I'm not going to do it if I need better rods or turn the engine to a point it can go bang! Right now the car goes through the traps at 6250 just hitting the chip. Thanks
