Made a pass with the E4OD on Saturday
Car went 10.23 at 133 thru the mufflers into a 30 mph headwind....... including sitting on the rev limiter for a sec on the 1-2 shift and the N2O coming on late off the line.
I'm happy with that being the 1st pass on the new combo, and this E4OD just might turn into a race car transmission yet.
Gotta give props to my A+ racer buddy Fabio for all the tech help on this trans, too!
He's only an asshole in person and on line, so cut him some slack.....lol......

Yeah, I'm glad I went with the W. I don't think a true 3.5 tire would have hooked nearly as well.
I guess I could have tried running them on a 10" wide rim.

Very nice, G. Not far off your C6 times and it'll obviously get faster as you tune it. Nice work
Did you run it on motor only at all?

Re: Made a pass with the E4OD on Saturday
The car ran a best of 9.95 at 135.6 last year with the C6 on a 200 shot.
We hit it with a 250 shot (rich tune so far) this time with the E4OD.
The headwind was a major issue. So was the messed up shift and the Bruno style throttle linkage misadjustment I had going on that prevented the N2O from hitting on time.
I think a clean pass without the gale force winds might get us in the 10 flat range. Leaning on the N2O might ge tus another tenth.

sounds good Greg, but you should be running low 9's with the 250 hit ... give SJ a call one day and he will give you a tune up you wont forget

I'm sure SJ's the man on N2O setups, but it'll take WAY more than a 250 hit to bring the low 9's my brother.

No, that was last year with the C6. I have made only that one pass on the E4OD so far.

If he had a big roller, mega compression, kick ass set of heads....................yes it should. But for what he has and at that wieght it runs about what it should. You keep forgetting the weight issue Nick ..................that and he does not have a 850hp dynoed deal.
For a tank with a truck tranny the deal hauls ass....................and to boot he was going through the mufflers.

Re: Made a pass with the E4OD on Saturday
Bruno, I feel that once the combo is sorted that 9.80's are where the car will be. If I can get the converter lockup to function like I want it to, I feel that the mph will be in the 138-139 range.
As it was, I am very happy with the 10.23 at 133, because that was the very first pass on the car after the engine rebuild, trans swap, rearend rebuild, etc..... Completely untuned on 22 degrees of timing. I forgot to mention that the 60 foot on that pass was a 1.57, too. The car last year got into the low 1.40's.
I literally had the car in a million pieces just two days before the race as well, and did not even have time to remove the exhaust.
So that's not too shabby, and the efforts of many people went into getting the car to the track, and I think they can all be proud of that first pass. I know I am!
8Liter, the trans has just been beefed up with extra clutches and some other C6 tricks that Jay does. Lots of parts were cryo treated as well, and some extra roller bearings were installed in a couple of spots. Jon Faubion worked on the valve body, and the trans is controlled electronically through a Baumann controller. The converter is a 265mm core with some crazy billet stuff and a big old lockup clutch. Stall speed seems to be between 3500-4000 rpm, but more testing is needed to see what it's really doing.

Re: Made a pass with the E4OD on Saturday
Nice runs Greg!! It sounds like that tranny works good.
Did your C6 have the lower first gear? If not, your 60' times might be better once you get it sorted!!
The car sounds like it did real good considering that the car was ripped completely down. Often when you change that many things it takes a long time to get it all going right again.

Re: Made a pass with the E4OD on Saturday
The C6 did in fact have the lower gearset, but I went the other way with the E4OD.
I put a C6 planet in the E4OD, and then to make up the difference in starting line ratio I upped the rear gear from 3.89 to 4.11.

How does the launch feel so far with the different 1st gear? If I am not mistaken, you were starting to think the low gearset was too low for what your combo wanted?Greg_P wrote:The C6 did in fact have the lower gearset, but I went the other way with the E4OD.
