In addition to what Coug said, turn it slow and don't let it chatter. If it chatters,,,, stop,,,,punt,,,,and start over.

Re: Cutting for springs/pc seals ?
it is one tool or mine is, it cuts the spring seats and trims the guides for pc seals all at one time, mine has 11/32 guide for ford heads / sbc heads or 3/8 for BBC heads. I have one for 1.550 springs and one for 1.625 springs, also have a Boss cutter so you can cut rocker stud bosses for guide plates and studs...... use a 1/2 drill or put it in a drill press and set the depth.... or I use a bridge port for mine.... always cut them @ 50 rpm so not to chatter or gouge the tool.....

Re: Cutting for springs/pc seals ?
I bought mine from summit its the howard cams brand cutters i bought the spring seat cutter 1.550 od .630 id then the seal cutter for.531 dia The seal cutter and arbor was $63 the seat cutter/arbor was $60+17 for the arbor. Competition products had them for $44+13 seat cutter/arbor and 50 for the seal/arbor cutter. The reason i went with summit racing is because the milodon megaflow valves i wanted were on back order from competition products and summit had them in stock. I also got a 4 set of carbide burs, 92 piece cartridge roll kit ,kay roll kit and a 56 piece surface recondition kit. So i'm gonna give it a try with the victor portmatch on my c8 heads, i hope i dont butcher them as these heads are fully ported now but were matched to a stealth intake and the ports look like glass. It must take years and years of porting to do that but i'm gonna give it a try anyway and i'm only doing the portmatch but still a little paranoid so i'm gonna grind on a few small ford iron heads first to get the feel for it so wish me luck i gotta run down Melvin some how
