Powerglide
If you wanted to bring it down to me tomorrow, I should be able to have it ready for you in time for the bash. I am just outside of Mt Sterling Kentucky.

Re: rebuild tranny
well the thing was working great, two weeks ago, friday when I was at the track, I tested the brake, it went backwards, this fellow tried to adjust the bands, ever since, it acts like it is in neutral, no matter what gear it is in.

Re: rebuild tranny
Sounds like he may not have got the bands adjusted tight enough...did he use a torque wrench to do it?

Re: rebuild tranny
Sounds more like a pressure problem to have nothing, the dude fiddling with the band would have little to do with the problems now.
I can understand your just wanting someone to fix it at this stage in the game...............other than fooling with it yourself.

Re: rebuild tranny
It doesn't cost anything to re-adjust the bands just to see if that is the problem....before you get too carried away...jmo.

Re: rebuild tranny
Did he take the shift linkage loose to adjust the band? If so the adjustment may be off. I would check fluid level, band adjustment & psi of the pump. Should be in the 175 to 225 range.
