Let me ask you a question...... Why does it make any difference what the gear size is the pumps are the best out there bar none they hold consistant oil PSI and do not Break like the mellings do sometime.... They cost a little more than a regular Melling but What is your Engine worth? would it not be wise to have a great pump instead of wondering when it will break?

Its not the gear size that makes the pump better than the others.

Are Kaase's oil pumps taller then Speed-pro HD pumps. I want to get the pump, need to find out about the pick up for a 10 " sump I hope mine will fit.

The cover height/depth is taller because of the "dual-fill" capabilities of the pump.

The physical thickness of the pumping unit is of little consequence when you don't fill that cavity in the pump "all the way". Filling it from both sides completely fills the Kaase pump, (and original CJ pumps), to make a smaller pumping unit pump like a larger unit with less aeration.

Ya should be able to use the same pickup tube.My Kaase pump was originally bought/ purchassed for my Front sump Maverick engine. When I tried to use it w/my Moroso Fox body pan it would'nt let the pan bolt up and was hitting the bottom of the pan in the front. I had to make a little drop down in the front for ir to clear.

Same p/u tube as stock. I had a Melling unit, purchased the Kaase pump and it bolted right in place, no changes required.

P.S. I have a rear sump application w/an Armondo's 10qt. pan.

The rear sump mounting is the same ht. as the melling......i'm not sure that's the case on the ft. model.

CANTON makes a pick-up which uses a rear sump, ("D" type pump), oil pump with a 8 1/2" deep, front sump pan.

The front sump pump uses a CJ pick-up.

The front sump # will also work on the rear by switching the blockoff and the pu tube around. Modifications may be required Smile
