Ideal oil pressure ?? Vacuum ??
Guys, what oil pressure would you recommend?
I have an external peterson pump which is of course fully adjustable.
A460 block, with 0.070 restrictor.
515 Ci with 3.85 stroke, 0.0033+ mains, and 0.0025 + on GRP rods, 10-30 oil, and spinning to 8000 and change.
What about vacuum pump? I have the pin end a little loose, at 0.0011-12.....
And yes, I fired it last nite.........and I think I have created a MONSTER.....
Thanks.

Idel oil pressure depends on alot of different things, oil used, clearances, application Ect., I've heard it said many times, by quite a few Pros, you only need enough to make it live......... but from what your describing 55-60 lbs should be fine while gettin' it.
as Far As vacuum Kaase seem to think any thing more than 10 will kill a BBF. with a wet system.

Re: Ideal oil pressure ?? Vacuum ??
We shoot for 60psi oil pressure at idle with our peterson pump and about 6" vacuum. Just enough to dry the engine out. That is about the only reason we run a vacuum pump on the turbo car. When we ran nitrous we never went over about 8-9", it didn't make any more power in our app on the dyno but every engine is different.

Around here everyone runs SB's, with similar clearances, but 0-5 or 0-10 oil, spinning 9500+ with 50-60 oil pressure as well......
I have seen the 10 inch vacuum rule as well, and will keep it under that for now.

Yes, it worked really well... This is a whole new A-headed combo with a lot more power....
We will find out how it works on Saturday.....I'll see if I can get some video up if it runs some decent #s...

I run an A460 block, .060 restrictor, loose clearances, 20-50 oil, wet sump deal with an Aviaid external pump, 1.5 section spur gear deal. Hot idle is 55ish, 75 with the touch of the throttle. Cold its about 80 at idle.
You did end up with a glide correct?
