My sleeper Mercury Zephyr Z-7 with a built Mustang 302, C-4, 8.8" rear end, Thunderbird Turbo Coupe Interior, 4" cowl hood, etc. I worked at a salvage yard while in college and I built that car one piece at a time from a $300.00 beater. I surprised a lot of Camaros with that car. A few 5.0 Mustangs too. I eventually jumped on the Fox body Mustang bandwagon and traded it in on an 89 LX.

Re: Past vehicles you wish you still had
I still have my first car, 77 Ranchero, stuck in a 460 and a C-6, it's a POS right now, but it ain't gone yet.
The car I REALLY wish hadn't got away was my Dad's 1969 Mercury Marauder X-100,
429 Thunder Jet, A/C delete, I can't remember the actual name of the body color, but it was a deep
metallic purple to the point of almost being black. The hood was flat black, as well as the decklid.
It was a land yacht, but hauled ass!!

Re: Past vehicles you wish you still had
That's like my story. I wanted a 70-72 maverick, they were/are my first favorite muscle car. But my brother found one online and I knew he didn't really like them that much like I did, but he knew my dad loved them and my brother was really itching to get a car. So we got it and I was PISSED, my favorite car in the driveway and I can't even touch it plus I already had my 67 f100.Race Ready Fabrications wrote:My first car, 72 Maverick 302 auto. Bright yellow with black trim. Fun car for a 16 year old.
Well, the Mav ended up being really rusty and had a few problems so my dad wanted him to have a better car. So now he's got an 81 bronco which we traded for a 77 cj5 with over 12k invested into it. I tried talking my dad out of it because it was a PIECE of $#!t compared to the jeep, but we couldn't sell it and needed it off of our hands. Plus my brother needed something, of course, the guy wanted to do the deal. Well now we have a pile in the driveway and we basically GAVE the jeep away. Pisses me off. Now we still have the maverick and my dad is ticked about the whole situation especially being that it was his first fully built vehicle. It pisses me off all to hell just thinking about it. I will NEVER get rid of my first car (the f100) because of its value to me. Everyone always says "I wish I never sold my first car" and I'll be damned if those words ever have to come out of my mouth.
