Guess what my final engine combo will make
Lets play the guess the hp
I am still up in the air on which cylinder heads to use. For simplicity sake I could stick with production valve placement heads or get the pistons fly cut and run a CJ cylinder head?
I'd like for you to pick one of the numbers on the poll then post which cylinder head and why.

P-51s...
Best bang for the buck IMO, plus the ole Lemster has them in stock too... Pretty ready to rock out the box as well. Slap them on and go. Yank them off next year, clean them up some, stick them back on and then go faster...

P-51's
Fly cut the pistons you have with Lems Insky rental tool. You can do it with the pistons in the block.
I voted 798 , but it will need a cam change.

My votes for TFS streets, the truck is heavy and the port velocity will be better to get it moving. Plus they are capible of very good power, blakes proven that.
PS LA sucks...... Bla

Re: Lets play the guess the hp
I ran the flow numbers through my DTD that were given to me from TFS on the 290 Power Ports and the 325 Power Ports. The 290 power ports had a higher average hp/trq numbers. The 325 Power Ports appeared to loose on the bottom end and gained on the top. But that being said this isn't going to be a dailey driver, nor tow truck.
Where do you draw the line on average numbers and start trying to get peak flow? I am building this engine as if it's going to be %100 NA but would like to add 100-150 shot just incase I can't make a particular index class.

Put the P-51's on it............... If it's a little soft on the bottom, Give it a 50 shot, and hang on.
The big low lift numbers on the Kasse heads I think will keep the torque good on the 528. Besides I think your going to have plenty anyway, just converter it where it needs to be, and it will work. You may have to have the leave rpm just a little bit higher than where the Streets would be, but it wouldn't be much.
Then later you can port the Kasses and gain even more power.
JMHO..................
As for hp per dollar , pick up a set of the SCJ's from lem and bowl blend them yourself. they will go 370-380 @ 570 lift which will work killer with the cam you have now. You can max port them later if you want , or sell them and step up when you get ready.
Yea............ That's a good idea, glad I thought of it................

Let me ask ya'll this. How well does the 290 Power Ports (TFS streets) do with nitrous?

I think you would see a bigger gain with the same jets in a Cobra Jet head. The bigger the jet I think the more advantage would go to the Cobra Jet.

Alot better than without nitrous
Josh. I'd buy whatever fits your budget right now. I think Lem still has some good deals on the SCJs. I know my price on the P-51s was good too. Whichever head you choose you can't go wrong. I chose the P-51s because they are mostly ported out of the box and seemed to fit my long term engine plans. I'll stick them on another shortblock in a few years and keep going...

Re: Lets play the guess the hp
Fly cut them pistons and get some of the "cheap" SCJ's from Lem. Send them to Blake with some cash and have him do one intake/exhaust port. U can match the rest. What's the cam specs?

I vote SCJ heads, good head for the buck and is easier to get a hold of. My junk ran better than what I was told it would do. Ask Lem he help me put it together.
