I hear you Randy everyone I find for a bbf is way higher than that, that why I am asking the ? here .I just don't want to buy something that might cause me to have to pull the trans and build it after the convertor can't handle the torque of a bbf and comes apart.I know we take a chance with anything we buy now days but asking the ? here you can find the good and bad on most any part contanding to a bbf from engine to the rearend .

I've never used them, however, I'm guessing for $295, you get what you pay for.........

Re: Has anyone used a stall from bdr
I thought about them...decided to use a stock converter for now....I know nothing about the trans (C6) so I did not want to lose any money. plus the engine is stock save for the comp 268 cam and stealth intake. But if I had to buy one ...it would be theirs...for the money
Try it and let us know how it works!

Re: Has anyone used a stall from bdr
I may try it mine has a small cam the ex274h comp I am going to call them and talk with them on it tomorrow if I get a chance to see what they have to say and I will post what they say about it. If it ant worth a crap it want be the first peace of crap i bought but if it works for this build I will be ok because next build will be a stroker and will have to step up on a stall anyway. This engine is to just get the truck set up and alittle track time before stepping up in hp that why I realy don't want to spend a hole lot on a stall right now knowing I will have to change it on the next engine.

Re: Has anyone used a stall from bdr
Jim here is a converter made by PDQ and listed as a 2200-2500 stall. It has the big pilot I think you said you needed.
http://www.oregonperformancetransmission.com/performance-transmission/PDQ-F22.html
This one is the same except 1.375" pilot.
http://www.oregonperformancetransmission.com/performance-transmission/PDQ-F56.html
Here is PDQ's site if you want to check it out.
http://www.pdqparts.com/Torque_Converters.shtml
The prices are cheap but I don't know anything about them. The website was kinda impressive if that means anything.
Maybe we will get a response about them from the peanut gallery

Re: Has anyone used a stall from bdr
Brian at BDR emailed me this today on the convertor for the one who may be interrested in what he said
Hi! Yes this converter will work well with that 460 motor, We fabricate the front cover it is just as strong as the one piece front without the weight. Thanks, Brian @ bdrtc

We will have to waite and see if anyone ealse try's it I want be getting one from them I am taking my chances on a used 10'' this time.If the one I am getting make through next year I am planning to build a stroker and go glide. That is why I don't want to spend alot on a convertor for the setup just want to get alittle seat time and get the chassis setup right and learn how the truck is going to handle.I know going up in hp will change it some just want to get a feel of things first been a few year sents i have been on the track about 15 years. An ya Jon it was in a 69 Mustang like yours but in stock form with a 351w and 5.14 gears wish I still had it I would have built it instead of the Ranger.

Re: Has anyone used a stall from bdr
I have ordered three converters from Brian @ BDR for my buddies & they are behind big inch bbf's in pulling trucks. We did have to send 2 of the three back to get adjusted (too tight) did'nt charge us a dime even after the year warrenty was up. So far we have not had any failures of any kind & when the 2 converters came back they were pretty much spot on what we needed. Brian has always worked with and treated us good. Communication & fast shipping A+

Re: Has anyone used a stall from bdr
Well the used convertor I was getting was sold after I thought we had a deal and I will leave it at that.So I bought a new one from BDR Convertors at least it has a 1 year warranty.4speed thanks for your input I think I will be good on my 460 only around 500hp give or take a couple of ponies he told me the convertor was good for 600hp+ .He told me if it not what he said it was send it back and he would fix it and pay shipping .So I will take my chances and see what happen but it will be a while before I can test it.

Re: Has anyone used a stall from bdr
I was planning on getting a Boss Hog converter from ACC Performance. Because their prices were lower, but I never used them or heard anybody mention them before. So I'm getting a more well known one, you buy cheap you buy twice.........You just need to be careful on what you buy when your going off of price, especially on ebay.
So, while I'm talking about it, anyone ever here of these guys before?
http://www.accperformance.com/
Mainly looking at 26011 and 26012. Those are 12" converters. Then there is 26032 a that's a 10" converter, so which is better?

Re: Has anyone used a stall from bdr
I not going off Ebay price I have talked with Brian at BDR and also have emailed him on what I was going to be doing with it and it still has a one year warranty .An I didn't buy through ebay I bought through BDR and the price was higher than $295.I am not trying to cheap out I just can't see buying a high dollar converter for no more hp than I have right now, knowing it want be in there long.I will be building bigger engine after the truck is finished and alittle seat time.

Re: Has anyone used a stall from bdr
I knew you bought it from BDR and not ebay. I was trying to say that ebay stuff (because you mentioned buying one off ebay) can be TOTAL junk at times. I have a story but don't want to embarrass a fellow member.
I tend to word things the wrong way. Happens all the time but I don't know why.
I hope it works out well for you, that warranty can comfort you a lot when you buy a product. Good thing they stand behind what they make unlike some other places. Heck, just because the price is low doesn't mean it automatically bad. It could be the best one out there for all I know.

Once I get it finished I will repost and let everybody know how it works good or bad after I hit the track with it.But that might be late this year or the first of next year.Just found out some good new today that is going to cost me a few bucks and thats ok so the truck will be hold again for parts.
