tire smoke health issues ???
I was just thinking. When I'm in the burnout box area and cars are roasting them up the smoke will blow my way. I love the smell of burnt rubber and race fuel, but are there any health issues you can get from breathing too much of that in? Like asbestos crap? other than the race fuel fumes gettin you high of course.

I know a starter that had to take a few years off because of the buildup in his lungs. It took that entire year to cough everything up but he's back starting again.

Ewww, that's like what a smoker goes through. I was worried about asbestos because during burnouts and stuff people say crap like "this is my asbestos right here". So that was my main concern. But I wish I could make a race fuel and burnt rubber scented air freshener. Its really addicting like smoking, sometimes I would KILL just to smell it. I'm craving it right now. So don't get the hulk angry!

Must not hurt you just look at John Force with the big smokey burn outs he does. But that might be why he seams to be out of breath or sounds like it when he is interviewed.

HELL NO! I'm not worried about it. I've just been curious to find out because of all the stuff I heard people say. When the wind blows it everyone turns away, but I just keep looking straight ahead and breath it in. Can't be worse than drugs anyway, well it IS a drug to me. Love it!

Man...tire smoke...I just love the smell. A engine running on race gas is just great to me. Gets me pumped up. Oh coarse my wife thinks I am crazy when I say these things.

My wife looks at me funny when I ask her to splash a little racing fuel on her neck. There is nothing better than the smell of burnt racing fuel.

Maybe that's why she's looking at you funny!!
I agree 100%, I get chills every time I go to the track for the first time each year. Get a whiff of the exhaust and the rubber.....I liked the Av gas better than this unleaded crap though.

Re: tire smoke health issues ???
there are definitely bad chemicals that kill when tires are on fire. Arsene, (not arsenic) Phosgene, and IIRC Nitrogen Oxide. Its bad shit. I doubt that hardly if any of these chemicals are released during a burnout. We just had to be careful if there was a tire fire underground.
