Re: Congrats Joe Mayabb !!!!
I believe he ran 5.08 & 5.09 in the heat. Joe had the only car in our class to run in the 5.0's at this race. It was very warm at this race. Joe qualified no. 1 & also won the race. Joe is running pretty consistent & I think he will be a contender at the (3) remaining races & also be in contention for the OVOS True Street Championship. Take care & have a nice day!!!!

Re: Congrats Joe Mayabb !!!!
We struggled at the last race. We have a different combination this year & have been trying some new things with mixed results. We have not been very consistent this year so far. We won the May race with some luck. This past race we had a very poor race. We never got the car down the track in qualifying or eliminations. It was a very frustrating race for us. We raced Joe the 1st round & blew the tires off. The track manager let us do some testing after we lost 1st round. We tried something else in testing & we ran 5.14 one pass & our other test pass we ran a 5.13. I think we are starting to get a few things figured out, so hopefully we will be more consistent at the last (3) races. My driver is leading the class in points by a very slim margin at this time. We are going to have to get a lot more consistent to have a chance to win the championship. If I get some time in the future I had thought I might do a little thread on the the engine we just built for this year. As with any new engine there are always issues that you run into. I thought I might share some of this info to maybe help other folks in the future. Anyway take care & have a nice day!!!!

Re: Congrats Joe Mayabb !!!!
Thanks guys. It was an extremely hot weekend for racing but we managed to pull out a win by being consistent. We ran a 5.09 off the trailer and came back and changed some jets and went back out and went 5.08. We raced Kevin Rowe/Leon Mathis first round and I added some power in high gear and it didn't like that at all. Leon had trouble so we were fortunate to get the win. We slowed to a 5.14 but the track temp was 149 on that pass. I changed the setup back to the 5.09 pass for the final round and it ran a 5.09 again for the win. Kevin and Leon have all the potential in the world. It seems that everyone in this class has had their struggles and unfortunately they are having theirs right now. I know they will get it figured out soon.

The "Old Dogs" were there and we saw Joe take the win! Proud of you Joe!
Let me add, that Shannon and Billy Glidden are the hardest working two people I have ever seen in my life!!! Between rounds I watched them and it was like a symphony at the Boston Pops. They (mostly Shannon) packed the parachutes, refueled the car, changed slicks, R&R'ed the driveshaft, changed Liberty 5 speed transmissions, open up the replacement transmission and changed the low gear ratio, added gear oil to the trans, cooled the engine with a closed circuit heat exchanger, R&R the passenger side door, adjusted the clutch and the list goes on. Then Shannon hooked up the golf cart and they barely made it back to the staging lanes in time for the next round.................and then there are "haters" out there like the village idiot, Les, who are jealous of their success. Remember this guys, hard work breeds success
