Maybe you should ask Bruno, better yet, ask his son.

Re: wheelie bar ?
un sprung sir , but after resetting my 4 link it barely gets on them anyway. I look at them as a safety device . I am sure it comes a point where you really have to lean on them and I am sure its different on every car.

Re: wheelie bar ?
Ours are 12 inches up but they are just there because we are sissy's. Not really. Rear bumper paint cost too much if the tune is off a little.
When I ran a Top Sportsman car, we had them passenger side 4" and driver 4.25".

Re: wheelie bar ?
70" long bars are the minimum length in my opinion.
As for height 4 to 5 inches is a good usable starting point with a lot of 4-link big tired cars, or around the height of your fist (a quick & dirty measurement if your in the staging lanes & no tape measure is handy).
Don't be surprised if some big tired ladder bar cars might need a little more height. Since ladder bars can be more violent sometimes you might just have to let them carry the front end a little more so the wheelie bars don't unload the tires.
Don't worry if you end up having to run a little wheel height stagger like has been mentioned, it's common. It's just another tuning method to offset some added torque loading the right side slick might see with big launch torque numbers & a car that doesn't allow body roll (such as a 4-link with anti-roll, or a ladder bar). While you could offset any possible extra unwanted side loading by adjusting the 4-link/ladder bars, doing it with wheelie bar stagger can be a much finer adjustment depending on bar design (and if you don't have to stagger them too far). And it's a much easier/quicker adjustment to do in the lanes if you get put in a lane that you know will be a slight right/left launch problem vs the other "good" lane.

Re: wheelie bar ?
yeah, we don't tune our chassis with them and actually we have never even been on the bars but with them on our weight bias is better and there is that little safer feeling you get with them there.

Re: wheelie bar ?
I run mine at 5. You will need to play around with them if you are on the bars.

5" Here, Spring Loaded A.R.T.'s, Like KY said, I have them more as a safety device rather than a tuning tool.

On a properly set-up car I can't see it slowing a car down at all (in the Mechanical sence), other than the 30# extra weight.
But I'd rather carry the slight bit more weight than damage the car with some violent wheel stands,

Re: wheelie bar ?
I know you are joking but I will bite, since ours don't ever touch it doesn't slow. we don't run ours in one org but we built some cool weights that bolt in there place when we are there.bruno wrote:how much do the bars slow you guys down ?

Re: wheelie bar ?
If you have a car that wheelies ,they won't slow you down. The lower you can keep the front tires the faster you'll be.bruno wrote:how much do the bars slow you guys down ?
