Who's complaining now? In that pic it looks as though he has some on there but they are all wrapped up under the bumper...

Wheelie bars
I know some guys don't like them, but I almost destroyed my Blown T roadster when I was younger, it came up too high and I lifted and it slammed down shattering the windshield in my lap, and did front end damage, exhaust damage etc. Needless to say bars went on along with the repairs, and I felt a lot safer launching after that. I have had them on any high power ride ever since....

Re: Wheelie bars
I put them back on my car this year, my car always likes to get airborn like the pic in my avatar, but it kills ET and hurts parts so The bars are back on for good now.
Re: Wheelie bars
they should have them for that class, but hot street ..not allowedjbozzelle wrote:

No wheelie bars are allowed in NMRA Hot Street. That is the class Mr. Bowles runs, so clean your glasses, John!

These sanctioning bodies preach on/on about safety. Then they turn around and let these high powered vehicles run skinny tires and no bars. It's like wiping your Butt before you poop, it just don't make sense.

If he had wheelie bars though, he could increase that "MANAGEMENT" and run faster yet!

Looks like we've got another chassis guru in our midst.
Perhaps more likely a guy really doesn't have a clue as to how much work (read $$$$$$$$$ and R&D) it takes to make a small tire car really fast.
I'm not saying I do either, but then again I'm not saying big tires and wheelie bars are dumb because a few small tire guys have it figured out.
Why not go run drag radials, too, hell everyone's running 7's with them now right?

Off Topic, I was watching Car Crazy the other day, and they were at Jack Roush's shop. I thought I saw that Maverick over in the corner. But I could be wrong.

Are you sure them faster 3000lb small tire no wheelie bar turbo cars running low 4's aren't using the Davis traction/wheel stand controller for "MANAGEMENT" instead of a wheelie bar? Call it what you want but ANYTHING adjustable on a race car is a "crutch" in one form or another to help the driver get the car down the track better. Doesn't matter if it's adjusted/set before the pass, or it adjusts it's self during the pass, it's still a crutch of some sort. But on the "crutch" scale, real time self-adjusting automated controllers for traction, boost, nitrous, etc are way more of a "crutch" than wheelie bars will ever be.

Dave makes an excellent point. I have stated that if you want to drive a "REAL" racecar, you will be in a Top Fuel Hemi, Motor on a Stick. But they still adjust the clutch ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... don't they?..............

Re: Wheelie bars
There is nothing wrong with big tires , its just that this younger generation can't cut a light and make a car run consistent so they think they have an advantage by running heads up .
Then what happens is they get on the internet and argue about rules because they don't fit their car to a tee
run what ya brung or bracket race don't whine about rules
