TJ is definately a smart man, and his wisdom is still around if you know where to look. Can't say that there is ever a fix for problems with gov't but "hiring" good people is always hard, and sometimes the one's that are good get there and can't get anything done because of all of the bad apples they have to deal with. Randy M made a statement in another thread about re-elect no one. I believe that is what might be able to solve some of the problems, but there are so many power brokers out there that control too much.

You are right, forget the two partys, vote for none of the above, then write in your choices, someone will get the message.

Bad idea, got to swing the lesser of the two evils in place first...... in other words vote Republican.... Voting independent with the way the systems set up is a wasted vote as either party is to F'n strong in numbers in most areas. Got to start with the independent (or third party) stuff on local levels first, mayors, town positions, council members, Ect. and get members and get it rolling. YOu need to remember we'er fighting a very old and establisted machine, it won;t be knocked over in one election as we have to many rats following the piper..............

I think you are right on target Dave. Here in KY we have a nice shot at putting an outsider into the Senate with Rand Paul. Its a bit fuzzy between the Tea Party and Republican Party. I like to think that the Tea Party is a real alternative and not just a GOP experiment. The Libertarian Party has some interesting ideas and claims to be the 3rd largest party.
Lots of big ideas surround how to change the government...

A democratic government is the best form of government until 51% of the people are morally corrupt.

Then you have the crooks voting in more crooks.

But I still think that if everyone in America voted............... This shit we have now would not be happening.

I think we should (everyone of us) come election time, contact everyone we know to go out and vote, even if you have to carry them to the polls.

Thats what Acorn did in all the big citys . All the big citys were carried by Obama. They handed out money to people to get them to vote.

Pure Democracy doesn't work and thats not what we have in this country, we are a Republic. People have been trying to convince everyone we live in a democracy for years and its just not true.

WRONG -we have to move to a NO party system.washington,also a smart fellow,albeit not the intelectual giant of tj,warned from the first of the formation of a party system. it is not a sporting event,your team vs my team-we are all on the same team.what is good for all of us is good for each of us,but the inverse(converse?)is not so
