I won't vote Republican or Democrat if the person running is an incumbant ... RE-ELECT nobody.
It will probably never happen however, IF there is a COMPLETE changeover of government elected personel, someone may get the picture.

Civics. Basic civics. If you don't know what your voting for you shouldn't vote. My Dads a kinda far left guy(although He'll fool you now and again), Im pretty much straight down the Consultation. When we get together let's just say theres some fire works. But there is one thing I can count on -He knows what he believes in, and he doesnt need the 5'oclock shadow to tell him what that is. People voting for "Obama Money"? Please.

If all a person knows is that we live in a Democracy, the Pres runs the Country, and the Supreme Court overturns us all ... Doesnt need to be within 1,000 yards of a poling place.

Their are still do many True pull the lever and getto democrats, alot of the people who think like (Apparently you and I) generally have Republican roots....... it would break down something like this... 50% Democrat.... 25% Republican.... 25% independent / other pissed off people..... what do you get then? Obama again is what you get.......... got to swing things from the roots, you'll never upset it from the top down.

The important votes come in picking the republican canidates for the offices, now thats where you make the difference. You have a much better chance of revising one ot the parties and changing it than you do starting a new party right off the bat.

there is another i believe was jefferson but maybe another founder "when the people discover they can vote themselves money from the treasury it will be the end of the republic" think were there yet?

Ambitious! People will always group together to promote their values. The political parties are just a formal group. Even with no formal parties people would gather and broker shady back room deals... Using some of Freelander's points, we have to work with what is in place now and make small changes over time.

I don't know, maybe y'all don't follow whats going on very close. Small changes are what has been happening for decades. There is a "center" which is where we should be. It is in the middle of liberal and conservative. We are so far left of center right now, that without drastic change, the socialist party will have way to much leverage. I agree that I might be 1 notch below anarchy and need some balance, but I will not allow my government to force me to live a socialist life.

the answer the the problem.... Say "no I will not live like a socialist and I refuse to accept it". That's one of the biggest problems we face if people are scared to say no, they have to much fear of loosing things they believe they own. You keep paying rising taxes, eventhough you know it's wrong, because of fear.....

Like some have said, with the system as it is, when it comes to elections even if EVERYONE goes to vote the situation is this. Whether it be Rep., Dem. Independant, Libertarian, or ???, it is always someone who has been selected, and it is always the same type. So you never get someone to actually vote for, you only have someone to vote against. Like our locals and state, they are like our law enforcement, practically all are those who are just too damn sorry to do anything else. Especially anything that involves work or character.
