Nick,

Ask us again in about 2 or 3 years. Meanwhile go racing and don't worry about it!

Basically the same material oem belts are made of, good for over 60000 miles. Just try your best to keep oil brake fluid or anything that might attack the rubber away and off of it. They will last a long time.

Danny Bee question Empty Belted

The other replies agree with my experience. Kept clean, the belts will last a long...long time.
I have to share an experience (of another racer) from the last race I was at.
There was a guy with a BBC with a Jesel belt drive. He was working on his car and lost a small wrench. Next pass.....he found it. The wrench was found it's way into the belt drive system. wiped the belt out...blew the engine to smithereeeeeens!
So...if you drop a tool...nut ..or bolt...near the front of the engine....find it.
Just a tip.
Thanks,
Keith

Danny Bee question Empty A couple more tips for Danny Bee users

I just thought of something else.
If you remove the belt during maintenance, mark it so you see the rotation...and put it back on the same way it has been running. I am just basing that off of an instinct...no technology.
Also...
Place a slight amount of RTV under the cam bolt washer to keep oil from weeping out through the cam pins and snout. I have seen this causing a nuisance oil leak and re-work.
Later....
Keith

The best thing to do is not let the oil get to the washer . Put silicone in the pin hole[s] and smear a little on the i.d. the snout hole ....wipe off the excess after the cam hub is installed .
