Needing ideas...
So I've got this .060 over rebuilt 429 which comes out to 440 ci sitting around and a set of standard size valve C9VE heads. Wanting to build something that would be loads of fun out of it without costing an arm and a leg
Something that could maybe run 11.5 and still be streetable?

3.91-4.11 Gear and some Sticky Radials on lightest wheels you can afford.
C6 with a 3000-3500 convertor
Good Valve Job and a nice Blend of the bowls, good Valves and Parts
10.5:1 Compression
Performer RPM / 850 holley
Solid Cam 242 I 254 E .550 .550 on a 106-108
1 7/8 Headers and some bullet mufflers. 3" Pipes
Dura Spark with 6al box
Cal Tracs
Drag Shocks
Decent Spring Rates

Re: Needing ideas...
What about swapping the C-6 for an AOD (non lockup shaft and lentech VB) and use the 4.11 gears? Pretty much have everything else there minus the cam..

To expensive to build one that will last and the swap parts cost $$$ too. C6 is cheap and it works. if you got that kinda $$$ buy some better heads or other stuff.

Reason being on the AOD is I've already got my aod set up like that with a 3500 stall. All I need there is the bellhousing swap. Cars also setup with the shifter. if I didn't though I would be all over my C-6 like white on rice. Just need the AOD to live a few months so I can get the C-6 ready. Think it can be done though?
Budget is 1500 on engine parts and 600 for any trans work needed. Just trying to use up my spare parts and get a bigblock on the road.

Re: Needing ideas...
sell the aod and get a good C6 in the first place, why do it twice? your going to have to get a drive shaft fit, make mounts, buy abaptor bell and flex plate.... Why waste time !!
Factory shifter in the stang will work fine to do what your looking to do. C6 convertors and parts are cheap. and it will last.

Re: Needing ideas...
I have a B&M shifter in the car now. Guess I'll head the C-6 route. Maybe just keep the aod for some smallblock junk
What would be a good converter to go with?
