1998 F-150 heater core....How bad will it be?
Heading in to work today, flipped on the defrost and turned the cab of my truck into a sauna....steam rolling out of the vents.
Anyone know how big of a PITA this is going to be? Does the whole dash have to come out or, can I get to it by just taking out the glove box?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Speaking of 6.4s..... If you run into the guy that put the fuel filter on the frame kick him in the nads for me..... That is all!
Get ready for some work on the heater core though.

I agree, that filter setup is f-ckin stupid........pretty sure a ford engineer designed it........obviously he has never changed one..........
About like designing a heater core you need to pul the f-ckin dash out to get to.........
But man the ToRqUe...........

You should see how to refill the tranny's in the new mountaineers hint hint, there is no filler tube.richter69 wrote:

The filter would be easy if the transfer case, skid plate and front driveshaft was nowhere to be found... It would be even more of a plus if it didn't leak fuel the entire time you have it apart too...

Re: 1998 F-150 heater core....How bad will it be?
The heater cores in the 80's F trucks were a breeze, open the glove box, pull out the glove box liner and there is the plate that holds the heater core in!! Pop it off, undo the hoses and it slides right out. Obviously a poor design in need of re-engineering.
