1970 mustang fastback
Had some requests to post the specs and images of my 1970 mustang. Motor is a 533 BBF with out of box SCJ heads (Jon Kaase), roller cam, victor 460 intake, scat 9000 bottom end with JE dish pistons. Standard ladder bars out back (in the process of converting to full adj. ladder bar set from S&W). Nine inch with 4:86 gears and 31x14 slicks. Running a powerglide with JW bellhousing and flexplate. Car is ART tube chassis and is a pro-street setup. I drive to very local show and short trips to town. Fuel cost to high to go much farther.

Smaller Who the heck wants them smaller? We like them like this so we can see it better, or at least I do. One heck of a nice car, you've got good taste.jgreene70 wrote:Sorry I don't know to resize to make these smaller.

Thanks Lem, I'm the one tha called you a few weeks ago about having you spec me out a cam and sending my heads to Charlie this winter. Looking forward to see how a little magic from Charlie and a cam from you will wake this girl up.

Yes it is the factory firewall. It has been smoothed down and the area where the master cylinder is has been boxed in and pushed back app 1.5"

New times at the track last night
[img][/img]
Here is a new picture with the chin spoiler on after we got the laddder bars reworked. Took it to the track last night. Conditions were a little cool and track never really came together great. But managed a best of 6.52 in the 1/8 mile. I was hoping for 6.0-6.20 but guess don't have enough motor for that. We also came to the conclusion that the car may be a little gear bound. The trans is a power glide with 1.98 planetaries and 4.89's out back. Comes out of the hole great but looses on the big end. But all in all with the new suspension and changes it still picked up almost 3 tenths from the old time of 6.79.

Re: 1970 mustang fastback
That's a good improvement for sure!! Maybe with some more suspension/engine tuning you can get to your goal.

Re: 1970 mustang fastback
The motor has been together a while. SO I have lost my exact cam specks. Yeah I know thats my bad. But its a Doug Herbert 660 intake and 680 exhaust I think a 108 seperation.

I haven't weighed this car with me in it since the changes. But should be right around 2900-3000lbs with me in it.

That's a great looking car. Lake Cumberland is about a tenth slower than anywhere else around here. What was your MPH?
