Rick, Suck it up and come on down so you can hang out with us
Jason, Tracy asked if you and Lisa would be there again this year. She will be happy when I tell her...
Damon ... you ought to come-up here for the NMCA race next weekend.
I would anticipate that MUSTANG owners within about 150 miles will be in Bowling Green but, hardly anybody else. Now many big block Fords in NON Mustangs are there...?
When I go to a race ... I like to "get into" the racing; I can have a picnic just about anywhere, (let alone 500 miles away). LOL
We hope to be there
We hope to be there this year and to actually race. I love the NMRA and BG first big race I ever went to that I got down to 3 cars at. Usually have a big turnout and although not many BBF are there, there really is not a huge amount of BBF at any racetrack you go to. I hate going to NMCA or any of those races if I wanted to see something besides Fords I would go to my local track! I am a FORD man through and through and like nothing more than watching 150+ cars that are Ford only. To many Chevy's at there at any track so why waste my time going to a NMCA event when that is pretty much every weekend at your local track! I did the same with FFW anytime a All-Ford series I will follow it until FFW turned into NMCA and battle of the brands I was not to concerned when they went under.

Just out of curiousity ... were you at the "Ford Bash" or "Fords at the Summit"...?
NO Chevrolets and LOTS and LOTS of Big Block Fords.
Do those events qualify as "not a huge amount of BBF at any racetrack you go to"...?
Read it again; I didn't say 150 Ford powered CARS, I said 150 plus "MUSTANGS" beatin' up on each other.
As a spectator, it gets rather monotonous watching the same body styles go down the track against one another, again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again amd again and again and again ... over and over and over.
IF you're not actually racing ... I don't see the point other than a "get together picnic".
As LEM said ... "send the jet" and I might go for the "get together" but, I'm not gonna drive 500 miles.
You can do whatever you want to do, LOL.
Re: So who's going? NMRA world finals
No, have not been able to make a bash yet, car has not been together for any of them so far, bad luck I guess that we have but it is what it is, and like you I would rather if I go to a race to actually race not watch. Also for Fords at the Summit way to far for us to travel to race sorry cannot afford the bill to get there 9 plus hours from where I live, I only get to race a few times a year but BG NMRA has always been one of those races I try to get to! Would love to make a Ford Bash hopefully next year if the car will stay together and hopefully we will have the Ranger finished by than also and have 2 vehicles there. NMRA has no Chevy's so I will attend and like FFW when they went to Battle of the Brands I did not attend those races! If I wanted to see things besides a Ford race I would just drive 15 minutes from my house to the track and see a 15-1 ratio with other brands vs Fords! Also if not mistaken NMRA has quite a few different types of vehicles ALL FORD POWERED! Mavericks, few pipe racks, some roadsters, some thunderbirds, Wes that brought his car to the BBF bash this year races at NMRA also and it is not a Mustang! Also they have a truck class as well, not many mustangs to fit in that class! But I guess since you hate to watch mustangs run I will just stay away from the BBF Bash also because guess what? we run a Mustang and a lot of the pictures I have seen show that there were a bunch there also. It is the most popular Ford drag vehicle out there so it would be what you see the most, but not wanting to get into a pissing contest with you but I like to see ALL FORDS race because I bleed Blue, it is all I have ever known so I will stick to NMRA and you can watch NMCA which I will not go to watch, to each their own! Good luck

To go "watch" any racing is boring in my book...............unless your helpin a buddy or the like.
And to be honest I don't go to a race with my car to impress the spectators.

Re: So who's going? NMRA world finals
See and I am the exact opposite. I could go race my Mustang but I don't because I find it takes too much away from the weekend. I really go to meet/see fellow people from the board. We think KY is a nice place to visit and the people are super. If I just want to go make some passes I will drive 70 miles down the road not 10 hours. So see, exact opposite opinion but still cool. As far as the bash I would love to go but it just never seems to time out right.

I will make the point that Mr. Bowles races a Maverick at the Mustang show.
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Most people do not want to see 150 F150s race each other.
I would not say that NMRA races should be like the "bash"...I would say that they should be more like the "bash" . There were fox body stangs , 3 or 5 F150s , Pinto , Maverick , a mid '60s Tbird , about 3 Falcons , Torino , dragsters , an altered , '69 stang , Cougar , etc.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
EDIT: '69 Mustang Grande' would have filled the field

It appears you won't go to any race track unless you're racing ... from an onlooker's standpoint, Mustang's are fine; as long as they are not 90% of the field. Watching at a race track needs to be entertaining and that is just a waste.
You're right - to each his own, LOL.

Just from the pic's that were taken by one of the other All Ford Forums that has Pic's from Fords at the Summit.I counted 110 BBF powered cars that I know for sure that had BBF's in them. There were probably more, but don't know for sure. That is alot of BB's at one event.

It looks like a good time but it is a 19 hour drive for me so I don't think it will be happening soon.

I've made the 17 hour drive from here to Commerce, GA to WATCH and mingle at an entertaining race. It simply CAN'T be momotonous is all, LOL.

You got that right Randy. I went to the 08 NMRA race at Milan. Never so bored in my life...
But each his own. Norwalk was great. plenty of DIFERENT cars there.

Well I am not hard core drag racer like a lot of you are. I go to enjoy the event and I have found in the past when you are so focused on your car that you miss everything else that is going on. I can race anytime I want locally but at a large scale event there is more to see and do.

Randy,
I'd love to make the NMCA race next weekend however due to Family and work issues there's no chance
I'll be darn lucky if I can make the Columbus NMRA race...

I hear ya Jason, Whatever works for ya. I can surely see your point there. It sure is hard to focus on racing and have a good time also. But some of us seem to do it
