Took a "short" road trip Friday..........
Well, on a whim, I decided to pack up the Banana and head to Spokane on Friday to do some racing. (325 miles) I've never been to their track, and seeing as how this was probably my last weekend to attend any races this year, I thought I'd check it out. Friday night was less than stellar, as I made my 1st pass it rattled the tires hard from half track, to about the 1000' mark. It felt like I was driving down the rumble strips on the highway. After confering with Dave (DILLIGASDAVE), I adjusted the ladder bars last week to see if would hit the tires a litte harder, I was kinda anxious to see how it reacted, and if it would help my 60's any. And boy did it! Even after rattling the tires, I managed to run a 9.73 @ 136 and a "1.38" 60' right off the trailer. This thing has never been in the 1.30's, and on my 1st launch, I knew right now it was a whole different animal. I didn't get the pass on video, because I was too busy trying find my way around the facility and get to the lanes. Until this weekend, my best 60' to date was a 1.41 at Mission, B.C. last year. And after going to a different slick this year, (M/T 32x14.5x15) This weekend my worst 60' was a 1.38. .
Here's the less than stellar part. Here's my 2nd pass: The launch was great, but after that, it got uuugly!

My 3rd pass: Even uglier. Almost wreckin' ugly.

1st Time trial Sat.: Better track prep too. This one was a 1.36 60' Listen to the announcer!

2nd Time Trial: 1.36 60' If you look at the reaction times on the scoreboard, this guy beat me on the tree (no big shock).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VPRtMwhJOE
I didn't get the 3rd run, but it went 9.84 @ 133 with a 1.38 60'
I didn't get my only elimination pass either, but I went 9.78 on a 9.80 dial-in, @ 134 with a 1.35 60' I didn't think it would break out, 'cause it rattled the tires again at about 1000'. But I'm kinda glad it did, 'cause it woulda broke out by more. I raced the same guy as above in the red Mustang, but this time we left a little closer together. He said, "That truck makes alot of power, 'cause you pulled me all the way and I couldn't catch up." I really need to learn how to lift or tap the brake when I got 'em covered.
All in all, I had a blast. I've never been to this track, and I had more compliments on the Banana at this facility than any of the others combined. They even "invited" me to come back at the end of Sept. for a Quick 32 race they're gonna do. But I respectfully declined due to a cash flow shortage. Oh yeah, thank you to Randy, Jason, Blake, and Jon Faubion for helping get me squared away on Sat.

That's awesome Doug. You really got that thing moving,....
Best 60' I ever got was a 1.40 w/ mine.
I've yet to get mine to the track this due to lack of $$ and having to make some changes here & there. I'd like to have everything together to be able to run before the 2010 seson ends, but it's not looking good.
Probably have to wait until spring rolls around next year.

Thanks guys. I was told there's a pic or 2 up of my truck, but they're not on Spokane County Raceway's website yet. I'll post them up as soon as I find them.
Somebody's teasin' me, and it ain't funny.

It would be interesting to see if the current setup will produced similar results at other tracks just to see how well the setup "translates" track to track.

Re: Took a "short" road trip Friday..........
Yes it would. If I can make it, I'll find out this weekend at my usual 1/8 mile track. These are 2 totally different tracks as far as how their set ups are and how they're prepped.

Good to hear Doug. Why was it rattling the tires?

Too much POWA! That combined with no down track prep work done on friday nights. If I'm able to go back sometime, I'll not be racing on Friday nights anymore.
