isnt there a fine line beween weight and strength ....... what are your rpms larry ?
we seen some marks on the valve stems we were not happy with probably from valve float,i only seen 7000 rpm one time.i need to build a little higher rpm in my combo so that if i need it all is good, say around 72/7500.the thiner wall versus the thicker wall of the pixi sticks tests its eye opening.

reusing my same old blue Lunati's.
I plan on using the thicker wall 3/8 pushrods myself vs the 7/16..................I got a real light package on the long side of that intake rocker............
This build was about reusing a lot of my stuff, I'm not even gonna need to rebalance the deal...............

Re: Kaase P-51 Heads ....the real story
My reasoning for the P51 was to use the majority of what I got............and to fit my current configuration. Was gonna do the bigger bore thing anyway, pistons cost the same for a P51 as they do a Street head......keep a flat top deal..............not gain extra weight.

Trick and Mansweto Racing in Sydney has a CNC program for the P-51s. No flow numbers available but my 545 made 950hp with a 2.25 valve before it went kaboom.

Here's the link to the original 850 hp build:
http://www.460ford.com/forum/showthread.php?t=122669
To make the extra 100 hp, the heads were given the full CNC treatment, a sheetmetal intake and the cam was reground to give .820+ lift with 1.8 crower rockers.
Here's the carnage and the post mortem:

I have an Evans Ford supplied A-460 block and a pair of TFS A-460 heads waiting to go together.

HeRo's like to play on mortal funds.
They also have more cool factor in their pork chop sideburns than chuck norris does in his beard and all his back hair put together.

The guys who built the motor, Trick and Mansweto Racing made the manifold. The cnc machined billet runners do make it very visually pleasing.

Good question Lem. You and I are on the same page with this one. I don't know why he isn't wanting to get the C-460 headed engine done,,,,but I wish he would. Maybe he's scared of going in the fours. Looks like you and I are going to have to do it for him, or at least kick him in the ass until he gets it done. Let's run down to Benton Saturday morning and gather up all the parts, bring 'em home and get started on it.

Re: Kaase P-51 Heads ....the real story
the case is cracked on the tail over the reverse / low pack and leaks like a gusher when in reverse. Thinking back it started right after that cv joint deal in the driveshaft went out. I thought I caught that pretty quick , but guess not quick enough. Supposedly the transfer case amplifies the vibration and cracks them. I guess the crack just kept growing I first noticed a small leak about a year ago.
