Re: Headin' to the track...............
Well that was like drivin' a chainsaw................talk about no torque havin' lol. Shifted at 7800 crossed the stripe on the rev limiter....8000 Has a flat spot going on the chip, I gotta get after the air bleeds a little bit.
Went a best of 10.47.................makes me realize how has my 69 really is.............
Air was ok, nothing great, plain alky, I know the M5 makes 26 more hp.....so with a gear change and some tunnin'.different fuel.....should go some 20's real easy. Got a few little things too fix..........good to have the old brown turd back.

Re: Headin' to the track...............
Nice vid Jon. That small block sounds pretty good. What gears do you have in it now? Doesn't sound like it needs much of a gear change, but it does need one.
Congrats on finally gettin' it down the track this year.

Doug...
Its got a 5.00 in it right now, it will be fine for the 1/8th mile which is what we mostly run. There is a 1/4 mile race in the fall, I'll poke the 4.86 back in and fill it full of M5 and let it eat. I dont plan to have the 69 down long, this will do for now.

Just get your slow ass in the beams faster.
Sounds pretty good for what you have in it. I can set you up with a glide, bell, converter, and driveshaft. lol

if anything I need another gear, 2 speed would not be good for it lol.
The Buick Ford race is just that, there is no real money to win, though they pay the top qualifiers a little bit.............doubt I'll get any this year lol. Its morte or less a big test n tune.

Re: Headin' to the track...............
anyone car to guess the weight?
Has been gutted, alum dash, lightweight steering column, small alum rad, 3 gal cell, tube k member, factory brakes, aftermarket block, iron heads, c4 w ultrabell and all the shields, still has all factory glass and the crashbars in the doors. No bumpers, no fiberglass...........hood hinges still intact.
all this with 2 gal of fuel and my fat ass at the wheel.

Re: Headin' to the track...............
2800
With glass pin on hood, glass deck lid, lightened doors, lightened front end, race brakes, minitubbed, aluminum rear sheetmetal, I would say 2550.
I know we can get ours to 2950lbs setup like it is now with the turbo setup with Josh and he's a little bigger than you. How about 400lbs of ballast to be class legal? Ouch!!

Re: Headin' to the track...............
lower..............
the more I get to adding it all up the car is a bit soft. I feel the converter is a touch on the tight side, the deal wants a 7" but hey its not my money lol.
