Headin' to the track
5.80 race tonight, air is decent so maybe she'll run the number lol.
If it all stays together I'm gonna load the wife and kid and head to TV for the last bracket race tomorrow.............
2 races in one weekend, cant get much better than that.

Re: Headin' to the track
Well that was a f'd up win but I'll take it...............
They just had an hour of open time trials before elims, thought it best to get up there early, glad I did. Well I pull a KY Jellyand take off in high gear.....amazing how hard it will leave when you do lol.
I'm comming down the return road and notice the fuel press is 0, oh shyt, get back to the trailer and sure enough the pump was locked up. Made a mad thrash and pulled the pump and took it apart, the lower bearing was seized up.
popped the cover on the bearing and it was bone dry, with part of the bearing cage f'd up. pulled out the chunks of metal and packed it with grease..........well it works for now...we'll see.
cut a 425 light first round and dumped it hard and went a 5.85 at 110............car was honkin'
There was a zero percent chance of rain......wetherman needs and ass whippin', go up for the final, the other guy was scared to get his pretty foxbody mustang wet so he loaded up before the downpour............so i get the win.
Was gonna run it anyway but as soon as shut the door we got big raindrops............then it f'n poured............go figure.
Let me say those high dollar Magnafuel pumps are junk, first I had a seal leak early in the year and now this. Gonna try to find a bearing before we go tomorrow, if I can't I dont feel good about my half ass repair......and it aint rained a drop here at the house.
Had no camera tonight as the kid had her first cheer tonight at a football game and the wife took it....at least my priorities are in line lol.Too bad as it had the biggest wheelie ever tonight...........f it i'm tired.
All is good.

Re: Headin' to the track
Congrats on the win Jon... Good luck today... I'm off to watch my boy's 2nd football game of the weekend with the JV team today, then after the game I'm headed to our last 1/4 mile race of the year... Can't run today, but I'll get in for King of the Track tomorrow, and maybe get to do a little more screwin' with the points there too...

Good job Jon! Hard to beat the big torque for high gear launches!!
I have had lots of issues with electric fuel pumps, went with a mechanical pump on this one....
Good luck today.

Re: Headin' to the track
gonna drink some coffee and go pull the bearing and try to find one here in town, gotta leave by 2 so I need to get crackin.
The bitch will go back to injection this winter, this sealed the deal on that decision.
IMO Magnaflow pumps are junk................only 2 breakdowns in the last 2 years and both are from this pump.

Re: Headin' to the track
got it patched a little better, ind supply had a bearing but the id was a tad big, used some shim stock and locktite to "rig it" better lol. got an hour before we head out...been an entertaining weekend to say the least.
I left the bearing dimensions with them and I'll get a couple of the right size next week.

They should warranty the pump, I've never had a problem with them, but, there's always a first time...

Re: Headin' to the track
Well made it home, my first time shot sucked due to the slick hot track, didnt make a second one because I had to phuck with the pump 3 damn times.
broke out on the first pass dumped it hard and still went out by .005, planned to dial a 5.85 as the track was getting tighter, second guessed myself and put a 87 on the window, had a .022 to his .045 and went a 86 on the brakes......figures.
Should have left the phucked up bearing in it in the first place, its working for now.
My biggest rant with the deal is why does a high dollar american made pump have an obsolete sized made in japan bearing in it????? The top bearing I found as its a different style? pisses me off.
Gonna get them to fix it and make the buick ford race next month, then the bitch is for sale. buy me 2 holley black pumps and use one to feed the surge tank and one for a damn spare.
Car is a freakin monster though the way it pulls down track. These tires are a year old and have had the snot beat out of them, i have a fresh set in the shop but dont want to use them till next year I love my tire sponsor lol)

Re: Headin' to the track
prostar 500.
The bracket deal I just need to get my smallblock car done, This thing unless i pull a piperack or a tube car which I ususaly dont I am not used to reeling um in so fast lol. I'm whomping the throttle and I rekon its gonna need some brake pedal action in there as well.
My pump issues will be resolved this winter, in fact we were gonna use brothers electric set up on his as well but since we are putting the cell in front and all the bs i went through its getting a belt pump as well.
I guess as long as American companies use cheap as imported parts this is gonna happen.
I will voice my feelings on this tomorrow with magnafuel, that and there is a whole bunch of pump and regulator stuff going up for sale soon....this is bullshyt.
