Although I don't have one...a gas golf cart is my next purchase!! With a horn like Harold's and a beer holder like Fulp's

Re: Which one do you prefer?
I've got a 88 model Honda fourtrax i use, its paid for, will tow a car a five people hangin of the bike no problem. Golf cart would be nice, but you need a lot of room in the trailer for it and i dont think they go in the back of the truck. For just putting around my brother uses a bike, we have a couple other small quads but they take up space and are a one person deal and will not pull the car.

I was hell bent on getting a Quad because I rode DanO's for a weekend. Then everything changed when Harold let me use his Golf Cart! that thing is the cat's azz!!
But can a electric Golf Cart pull a race car??

Maybe if it's a Nissan Leaf!! How long would THAT extension cord be?? I vote for a quad. Something to do when it's raining and you're not at the track.

Mi ne has pulled my car a number of times, plus it has pulled a boat load of my buddies chevy's, I have a very strong pulling cart, plus I can order a bigger torque drive if I need to.

I've got 2 4wheelers.Alot of tracks are not letting the quads operate after racing is over now, too many drunks and kids going too fast I like the carts alot better, they'll haul more beer and seat more people,Plus they have "Gravity"

Re: Which one do you prefer?
Yes, an electric cart can pull a race car. We pull my friend's 1991 GMC Syclone race truck that weighs 3150 with him in it. They are MUCH more comfortable to get into that throwing a leg over a quad. I have a brand-new 700 Yamaha Grizzly and a beat-up POS 1993 Yamaha golf cart and I plan to use the golf cart to pull mine.

Re: Which one do you prefer?
we had an electric cart up here at the dealer, we used it to push cars and trucks in, would get a guy on front and use his legs on the rear bumper of whatever we were pushing in...................you could fold up the guy at will with your right foot lol.

Re: Which one do you prefer?
We always used electric golf carts at the dragstrip. If someone broke a rearend all we would have to do is rock the car to get a little slack so the wheels would start rotate and the golf cart could pull it. All the weight of the batteries seemed make it a better vehicle puller than a small 4-wheeler or gas cart.
I worked at the local dragstrip for a couple of years.
PS. Now days a diesel Kabota side by side does the same thing that old electric cart use to do.

Re: Which one do you prefer?
The 36v DC Golf Carts do a good job, but they get expensive when it comes time to replace the batteries. Good ones cost you around 150ea.
I wouldn't mind having a Gasoline Golf Cart though, but for the time being I just use my quad. The bad thing about the Cart is, that they're pretty much restricted to the just the track. An ATV is a little more versatile.

I have a 2000 Honda recon. Its really versatile for trail riding(Me and Sooz do that alot)and the race track. Its very lite and has plenty power to pull car. I do like the GAS golf cart deal also because when you start goin rounds at the track ,the crew can throw the Gen,Bat charger and Fuel on board and go.(Plus,I can work on the gas job and NOT the Batt. job)

You see what is on the back of that cart, it will haul that big gut, around for a three day weekend race, with no problem, plus it will drag the race car if need be, my cart has six eight volt batteries, thy are six years old, I plug the charger in when I get home, leave it plugged in all week, charger trickle charges it , when full ,shuts off, when harge drops it kicks back on, our bill shows no difference, if any maybe a couple bucks, the six batteries cost 480.00 bucks.

Re: Which one do you prefer?
no problem, just wanted BigD to see it will carry a load, and the batteries last, and it won't run your electric bill sky high, as stated earlier.

I'm searching the net and it seems that the gas cart is almost double the price of the electric cart
It's a guy in Perrysburg/Haskins OH that makes these
