Thought I would take Greg P's suggestion and join this forum. I have been a member of the other 460 forum since 07 but did not post often. Have been a member of the Torino forum for some time as I have a 71 Torino GT. I had one of these new when I was 21 and just had to try to get my youth back. The one I have now I picked up in Lawrence KS in 04. I just got it on the road recently. Finally completed a nut and bolt restoration this spring and replaced the 351 with a 71 429 tj. I put in a 460 crank, Keith Black pistons, slightly hotter Comp cam, Performer intake and a Holley 770 Street Avenger carb. Also had the Dove-C heads professionally ported and put on CJ manifolds with SS exhaust and Magnaflows. Behind the engine I put a Lentech racing AOD transmission. The rear gears were upgraded to 3.7 with an Auburn traction loc. I am still taking it easy for the break in but I did punch it a bit once on a hill already doing 50 mph and was surprised at the way it took off. Maybe I can finally out run my wifes Nissan Maxima.
