Getting pumped! Had a great time...

Cleaned the car up, was driving it around yesterday. Just reset the timing, then the cougar now has 11's Suck on that Nick! Here is a live feed, the gates open at 8 so we'll be there pretty early and first in line like always.

The maverick is satin black and the cougar is satin black on top and blue on the bottom.

My brother went and changed the timing again so I fixed it AGAIN. Were driving the maverick out there then I will get it set up to a better setting while we are out there. What pisses me off about it is the fact that there are no timing marks on the balancer.There is however timing tape, but do you think the guy we got it from put it on in the right place? NO, its offset so I have found TDC, marked it, then looked at the distance between marks on the tape and figured out where it should be. I really want to fix that.

The radiator started leaking today an I bandaided it and we should be all set. As a matter of fact, the last time it leaked (which was the first time) was just before the HS Nationals. So whoever's hexing me...quit it!

I won 1k for the school, 25 bucks for myself, and a big ole trophy. More details tomorrow, I'm tired. You guys would be proud of me with how great I was doing, I was killing everyone last time too. This is my second event to race at.

Okay, here's the scoop. I got a total of 9 passes in. The car has never run this good so I guess my tune job kicks butt! I dialed in at 14.15 and the closest I got to that was 14.1550. Then the final round I lost, it was a hot lap and the tranny didn't have time to cool off so it was slipping But I treed his ass at a damn good 0.005 reaction time I got a runner up trophy, I would have won had the tranny held up. After wards I was able to do a T&T pass and I just did it as a victory type pass, I was making a solo pass.

About five years ago our school used to win EVERY year and we haven't in a very long time so this is a big deal for us. It is a really big deal for us since we were able to win $1,000 for the auto program since right now our budget is $0. My teacher was all geeked and was telling all of his classes today and showed them all my trophy. I was the rockstar on the drags and I took a lap around the pits with some kids I knew in the car.

It made my day since my teacher was talking about how I did everything perfect and how I did so damn good. Plus I was called an idiot by some dumb ass in auto who thought I was stupid for manually shifting an auto trans and he just kept going on and on just last week. Me and the teacher know he is a dick and he did some stupid stuff. We all know your supposed to manually shift it when your in a built up car and your getting on it But he had to sit there and listen to the teacher say how great I did.

That's not ANYTHING compared to everything that happened. People I didn't even know, after I would make a pass. Gave me a good thumbs up coming back through the pits and I would hold up the white (winners) timeslip and give them a thumbs up. More and more people were doing that and it was the best feeling in the entire world. Even after I lost some guys were giving me a thumbs up and all the kids from my school that were at the drags kept telling me "great job man". Happiest day of my life!

Yep, that's the one. We have to walk in the snow and rain. I'm not complaining though, the other kids do a lot.

My machinist/past engine builder saw my last couple passes, it was cool for him to see me race and tell me I was doing great. I can only hoe to end up being that guy at the track that everyone knows and loves to watch race. Takes a lot of events to get that though. If anyone wants to see me race you could come to the next one I felt like a real racer, jumping in the car, throwing the hat off and getting the helmet on, starting it up then driving up to the staging lanes while trying to get my seat belt on.

And everyone was loving my burnouts, but half of the time it just spun one wheel for some reason.
