Know what ya mean there on Grannys. I have one left also. She is 92 and still has some black hair, and heart of a Angel.Gonna be a tough time when she leaves us. Good luck Friday. And prayers for Grannys. Everyones Grannys.
Speaking of Grannys. My Dads mother loved racing and cars also. We used to take her to the drags all the time. She told me; you should build a car so I can watch you race. Sadly she left us two years ago. And I never fullfiled that for her before she died.
So whenever that day comes, her name will be on the passenger window.
Sorry for the hijack Jim. Couldnt help it...
Regards.

The direction a car tries to point/drive during a rolling, high-gear burnout (vs a stationary linelock burnout) can a lot of times be used as a good indication of the direction the car will most likely try to point/drive during the launch. Making a mental note of what is happening during the burnout (if this type of burnout is used) can come in handy when ironing out a new car giving you "advanced notice" which way the car might launch so you can be ready for it if it doesn't go straight.

Ok I can say I have made a pass in the truck. All and all was a ok tnt night except I only made one pass and put it back on the trailer.I have got to get a vac pump or redo the evac in my headers not pulling enought vac.I blowed the front and back of the intake and was leaking to much to make another run I did not want to get oil on the track. They was one guy wanting me to make another pass plus I wanted to make at lest 1 more but as most of you know oil and slicks don't go together good usally most of the time the end results is someone gets loose or looses it.I didn't want to be the one who caused a reck and maybe someone getting hurt.OK to the pass I left easy not flat out never put it to the floor until 4000 rpm in 2nd then flat out until the 1/8 mile mark. When I nailed to the floor it came alive.Sorry no vid she forgot to take the lens cover off but I should have went over everything with her so I don't blame her,I was worried about making the pass OK you want to know what it ran slow.

Oh ya the truck ran strieght as a arrow gripped good on a soft lanch but felt real good want to make the 2 nd wide open but that will be later on.

Are you using a gasket or goop to seal the front/back of the intake?

What brand anti-backfire evac valves are you running at the header? I have seen where the cheaper valves from discount auto parts stores don't last very long.

Really no need for an evac unless its an alky deal or a kick ass ring package that requires vacuum. Put a good breather on each valve cover and be done with it. Those header deals can do more harm than good, and also if your using the supplied rubber or cork end seals with the intake set dont.........make sure the surfaces are oil free and apply a good quality silicon of your choice.

Even though the track results may not have been what your after, at least the first step is done and you have plenty of time to improve..................its always a work in progress.

If a guy isn't running a complete header style evac setup, I do like the idea of running the vc breather's hoses into a vented puke tank (vs running the breathers "open") to help keep possible breather vented oil/mist off of everything.
