DEVELOPMENT OF WIDESPREAD DAMAGING WINDS AND A FEW TORNADOES OVER
PARTS OF THE OHIO AND TENNESSEE VALLEYS AND GREAT LAKES TODAY
THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY

THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE

NORTHERN ALABAMA
CENTRAL AND EASTERN KENTUCKY
SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN
NORTHEASTERN MISSISSIPPI
WESTERN AND CENTRAL OHIO
MIDDLE TENNESSEE

ELSEWHERE...SEVERE STORMS ALSO ARE POSSIBLE FROM THE LOWER
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY NORTHEASTWARD INTO THE APPALACHIANS AND LOWER
GREAT LAKES

A POWERFUL JET STREAM DISTURBANCE...WITH WINDS IN EXCESS OF 175
MILES PER HOUR...WILL MOVE FROM THE CENTRAL ROCKIES ACROSS THE
CENTRAL PLAINS INTO OHIO VALLEY LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT.

AT THE SAME TIME...AN INTENSE SURFACE LOW ASSOCIATED WITH THE JET
WILL FURTHER STRENGTHEN AS IT TRACKS SLOWLY NORTHEAST FROM MINNESOTA
INTO WESTERN ONTARIO.

A COLD FRONT TRAILING SOUTH FROM THE LOW WILL SERVE AS THE MAIN
FOCUS FOR THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY AS THE
FRONT ACCELERATES EAST ACROSS THE OHIO AND TENNESSEE VALLEYS
TODAY...AND ACROSS THE LOWER GREAT LAKES AND THE APPALACHIANS
TONIGHT/EARLY WEDNESDAY.

THE VERY STRONG WINDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LOW...AND INCREASING
MOISTURE SPREADING RAPIDLY NORTH FROM THE GULF COAST STATES...WILL
ALLOW THE THUNDERSTORMS TO ORGANIZE INTO BANDS THAT WILL BE CAPABLE
OF PRODUCING SWATHS OF DAMAGING WIND AND A FEW STRONG TORNADOES.

WHILE THE GREATEST RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR
DURING THE DAY TODAY OVER THE OH AND TENNESSEE VALLEYS...A MORE
LIMITED THREAT FOR HIGH WIND AND ISOLATED TORNADOES WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY EASTWARD INTO THE APPALACHIANS AND THE LOWER

We had some rain.......that's a good thing.

We're cool, no tornados by the house. Lots of rain though, my damn hair is frizzy as hell!! Had a couple wall clouds and thats about it. You get any weather down there in Bama?

Its funny how they have a radar indicated "couplet" and the whole state is in peril...............


Reed and them guys always talk about chasing for the science and the need for better warnings...............you could have a warning days in advance and the average Joe would still get smoked by it...........honestly I chase because I wanna go see it.................

Funnel clouds to the north of me.... Tornados to the South.... I'm stuck in the middle again...

We had one touch down west of us in Illinois.
Our town had the warning sirens go off about 8:20 am this morning. I was at work and had the guys in my department go to our tornado shelter area. Don't know if this area is safe or if they just want us all in 1 area so they don't have to hunt in the rubble for bodies afterwards .

All was well and we went back to work after 30 minutes or so. It sure looked rough outside though.

TVA sent us into tornato mode at about 2:30 this afternoon and sent alot of people home early.

Yeah its supposed to get real bad up here for a couple days.

You gotta promise no shrieking like a little girl.................when your out there up close to the finger of God (if there is one) you can't turn the channel if you feel scared............

As if a tornado wasn't bad ebough, now your house gets hit with a chebbie tornado

Had some really bad weather here this afternoon.4 tornadoes, and 70mph straight line winds. One video from Columbus showed a guy driving straight into the storm and debree and cars flipping everywhere. Lots of rain that we needed.

It got pretty nasty up here in Northeast,Ohio about 3:30 pm Tuesday afternoon on my way to work.It looked like a Hurricane with real strong wind and real heavy rain.

Yeah the tornado touched down right no top of the Chickamauga Dam here in Chattanooga. It caused about a 6=8 car pile-up and sent quite a few to the hospital but so far have not heard of any deaths with the storm. Pretty long night with some bad storms and bad weather all around. That tornado hit just a few miles from where my dad lives have not talked to him yet so not sure if his place got any damage or not? Usually we are pretty protected from storms here in Chattanooga because we are surrounded by mountains on all sides but those Tornados are really weird on how they like to move and work so this one followed the Tennessee River.
