Swapping a traction lock into my 10.25" Sterling Empty Swapping a traction lock into my 10.25" Sterling

Ok, I rebuilt the traction lock in the sterling once, and now it's slipping bad again. I have a known good traction lock in another sterling rear I have here, but it is from a 1989 F250 vs. my 1995 F350.

Will the differentials swap over between housings?

Thanks,

Greg

I cant say from experience, but I believe all 10.25 axles are the same EXCEPT for a pinion change at some point in the early 90s... (then of course the 10.5 rear has its differences)

From what little I know, isn't there two different Sterling rears? I don't know for sure, but I thought there was a 10.5 Sterling also, but I'm not sure what it was in. I would make sure that they are the same, otherwise it should fit. Cool

Cases are the same between the short and long pinion 10.25's
And are the same as the 10.5's EXCEPT if the 10.5 has a 3 pinion set.
