K1 Technologies. Anybody heard of them?
I ran across their site today. They make rods and cranks as well as other stuff. Is there stuff on par with Eagle and Scat? Better or worse?

Only place I have seen them advertised was in Chevy magazines. I figured they was just another importer.

What you doin' readin' Chebby magazines?
Looks like their main office is in Michigan. Just wondering if they were an OEM supplier that also does some aftermarket performance stuff. Maybe Adney or Randy might know and will chime in.

I'd say your correct in assuming they are an importer, from their website.
"Forged 4340 Steel I Beam connecting rods. Shot peened for improved fatigue life. Sizes held to +/- .0001” , finish honed in the USA. Bronze wrist pin bushings. Weight matched +/- 1 gram on each end. Exclusively using ARP fasteners"
I haven't heard anything horrid about their products and I'm guessing they are on par with SCAT.

I swear I've heard the name before, I had a feeling that they were out of Michigan.

They are owned by Dover Corp, who also owns JE and Wiseco pistons. They also used to own Carillo rods, but sold Carillo to CP Pistons last year.
K1 was started in 2005 by Tom Molnar, who used to work for Oliver Rods. Dover bought them in 2006 to try to get some of the lower end market.
Callies has their own import line, Compstar.

A couple of guys around here run some decent horsepower numbers, 1200-1500hp, with that stuff.

That company was put together by a guy named Tom Molnar. He had the controling interrest having SOME involvement with Carrillo and Kellogg as minor Co-investors.
Those companies didn't want their names outright connected to a company which uses some offshore stuff.
Since their beginnings they have been sold to a conglomerate owning several companies.
EDIT: I should have read this whole thread before answering. This has pretty much already been explained.

Re: K1 Technologies. Anybody heard of them?
i used thier big dodge stuff once and had good luck. Other than needing to open up the rod side clearance the parts fit well and worked well in a blown 493 application making 700hp and 700 tq
