Was at my brothers and borrowed some old album's. This is around 98, my first "decent" motor lol. 466 w TRW domes, stock rods w floating pins and arp bolts, worked doves, solid flat tappet, victor w a 9375 (pre alky days) and yes those are nawwz solenoids..............Car was 3375, ran 10.80's n/a and 10.00's with a small shot. Stock un notched shock towers, access to center plugs required valve cover removal.
Was all through the mufflers, street trim, even had the back seat in it. 29.5 10.5...........W's were not available at the time.............

More old VHS videos now up on youtube.....
I put some more of my old track videos up on youtube. These are also from the 1990's........and yes there are more fun dry-hops.
Duane's (aka "Duane" & "yellowstangduane" on Chilly's sites) '69 Mustang with a re-ring/re-bearing junkyard 460 & C-6. This is back when it was more of a street car, before it's current improvments were done (cage, coil overs, Stealth replacing Port-O-Sonic, & MSD replacing Dura-spark).

Duane's '70 Maverick with a low buck 302 & C-6. It had subframe connectors, a roll bar, moved leafsprings, narrowed & braced 9" housing, mixed/matched stock factory axles to work with the narrowed housing, & simple slapper bars. He cut/fit/tacked everything & I did the finish welding & made the housing. He made all the motor passes & we split the bottle passes. Car was a blast for what little money was in it.

My '69 Mustang/junk pile Cleveland vs a vega with a killer sbc. I should have lost cuz he had been running in the 5's. But the wheel standing vega got loose & mowed a bunch of grass & I got there first. The guy shooting the video kinda lost track of where the cars were at for a second.

Jon, how long ago did you make the alcohol switch? Was your first alky setup a purpose made alcohol carb, or did you convert a gas carb?richter69 wrote:..............victor w a 9375 (pre alky days)....................

I sent the same carb to George Rupert and had it converted, I wanna say it was in 96 or so..............just the alky swap was a 3 tenths gain...........

Cool
Dave,
Watching your classic video got me all excited about reviving/protecting/storing my old pictures and videos. I have been learning to use Pinnacle Studio 12 to merge all types of media on to my computer and save it on DVDs..and the hard drive. Those old Beta, VHS, and VHS-C tapes will be going bad some day. I bought their software and a little gadget that will take input from almost any source, cameras, VCR...ect.
Very nice videos! I like seeing scenes from tracks where I have not raced.

I still have the body/chassis. It's an old Super Gas style box frame that won't pass sonic these days.665 falcon wrote:..........Do you still have the car
All I'm doing is importing from a VCR to a DVD recorder, a lot simpler than importing VCR to a PC.Wheelie58 wrote:Dave,

But I may eventually have to try something like the Pinnacle setup because I'm having problems with 2 of the old VHS tapes. For some reason the DVD recorder will stop the recording after only a few minutes on these 2 tapes saying their content is copyright protected. Which of course is bull siht since the video isn't "store bought".

I had already tried both putting tape on/leaving tape off the knock-out tabs, neither helped.69F100 wrote:Dave has anyone broke out the tabs on it where you can not record over the tape if they have pull some tape over them and try it.
Also tried 2 different VCR's. One was a newer VCR, and the other was a very old one. Again neither helped, still had the problem.
I did notice that the auto-tracking feature on both VCR's does have a little trouble keeping up on these 2 tapes. So that has me thinking maybe the 2 problem tapes might just be so old & stretched that maybe that causes them to read as copyright protected (for some damn reason).
