Daughter got herself a nice little buck today...........

Took my daughter & my brother-in-law huntin' this morning, and we found a nice little spot. She was only allowed to use a shotgun on this guys place, but it worked out good. The deer came across a field angling toward us, so we waited. The shotgun was too long for her to hold it up freehand, so I had her lay it over my shoulder so she could aim it. It worked out pretty good, 'cause by the time he got to where we were, he was only 8 yds. away, and she smoked him with a heavy dose of 00 Buckshot. Man was I stoked when we walked up to this guy.
We polished off a side of fresh backstrap tonight for dinner...

Congrats to your Daughter that's a nice Buck for a 12 or 13 year old?It's nice that you get your kids out there and have a good time with them.

Thanks Mark, I'll tell her you said she looked so young. 
She's actually 16. She loves to hunt, as long as it doesn't involve elk. She said they're too much like work. 
She was a trooper with this guy. She was soaked from the wet snow, and getting cold from layinr in it trying to get a shot at 3 other bucks, so we were on our way back to the truck when I spotted this one. I just turned and told her, "come on, one more time". So she sighed and away we went. From the pics, I'm thinkin' the cold and wet wasn't really an issue after she gave this guy the "sleepin' pill".

Doug tell her congrats on the kill it's something about be so tried cold, and wet after a kill that make one fill so revibed until time to skin it out

Thats great Doug. I love the fact my girls ask for guns for Christmas and Birthdays.

congrats on the kill!...She should be stoked and daddy should be so proud! I have hunted for 4 years and only got a doe and a 4 point...then my father passed and i gave up hunting....again Doug...congrats to you and your daughter

It's funny how when they are younger, they want to look older, then when they get older, they try and look younger!!
Sounds like you guys will have lotsa meat in the freezer this winter.

Nice Buck!!
Little nephew just gut shot a buck this evening with a 30-06, talk about a stinking mess! Took about an hour for them to track it.
I haven't been deer hunting since 1991.

Thanks guys. Darian is still pretty stoked about her buck. And yes, with my elk, and the 5 deer we took, we should be pretty good for meat this year. Tell your nephew congrats Josh. That's huntin' right there. If you hunt long enough, sooner or later, it happens. Kudos to them for sticking with it after the shot. Unfortunately, there are those that don't do that, and they make all of us look bad. You gotta stay after the huntin' Josh, it's a great off season activity.
