engine power vs 2 heads
what power difference between these two options
69 block bore .030 over
stock 69 crank, stock 69 rods
flat top pistons at zero deck
lower end balanced
flat tappet camshaft custom cut to pull vacuum 16 @ 900rpm
heads C9VE stock 3 angle valve job plus cutback on valves
OR
heads dooe-r heads stock 3 angle valve job plus cutback on valves
I can not do any porting or polishing rules..
not sure on intake and carb i can run any.... single intake and carb set up ...
what kind of power and between the two stock untouched head what kid of power would each build make..
Thanks
Dusty

Re: engine power vs 2 heads
Whats the application? Gearing? Trans? Weight? CID ?
Will both motors have the same intakes? Carbs? Headers?
Your question is to broad and their are many tricks that can be done and still fall with in the "Rules" you have listed.
Thiers alot more to it then A vs B and power production.

Re: engine power vs 2 heads
460 cid + boring, 3.55 gears, c6 trans with manual valve body, 5000 lbs , same intake carb headers,
I'm really just wondering the power difference between the heads (stock ) on a mild build lower end...
is there a 10 hp difference or 50 hp difference...
Nomatter what i have to pull 16 in vacuum at 900 rpm...

Re: engine power vs 2 heads
In the case your describing the smaller heads would work better. They will not make as much peak HP, but would accelerate faster. The Combination of weight and light gearing will hurt you with the big CJ heads.

Re: engine power vs 2 heads
You'll want to do more then just a "3 angle" Valve Job, their is quite a bit you can have done and still appear stock to a casual observer. It all depends on how far you want to take it and push the rules.
You will want to get as much compression as you can and talk to some one like Brett Powell about a camshaft, it will be extremly important.
Keep in mind if you putting some real gearing and turning some RPM and using a purpous build racing torque convertor the favor will got to the CJ's.........
