Snow Movin
What do youse use ?
Gotta killer deal on a F250, long box FWD coupla years ago. However, way too long to get into areas that the tractor usta. So, moved up the rear axle about 40", relocated the fuel tank to the bed, and installed 2-1/2" straight pipe duals with "flapper-doodles" to keep out the wet. Added (6) implement lights to illuminate the scene, and a coupla pounds of ballast to the shortened bed. With the strereo and heater blastin, we be stylin !

Re: Snow Movin
ABSOLUTELY. Added extra cooling this year. Mostly due to extending the blade 18", each end. Added UHMW to the face for non-stick.
Wish i could get the pics to post.

Here's my cure for snow.
I really dig that snow pusher Mark. Do you guys ever have to chain up the tires?

chains
I have been thinking about getting a lite set just for the front tires. Out in the fields either grass or stubble no problem up to about 4+ feet unless hard drifts, but when I do a road that has a coating of ice it will spin a lot. I try to run in high gear and back the throttle down to 1500 or so. It is a 12 foot wide blade , 40" tall with a 18" silage ext. Problem is at 300hp it never pulls the engine down at all LOL. It is the old 855 Cummins turbo with the N14 dual fuel line mod.

Lots of skidders out this way i bet would part with their chains. what size rubber is on that? Skidders are usually 24.5 32 or 30.5 32. I can keep my eye open if you're serious

Gotta love them big ole Cummins engines in a tractor. I will not own one in a semi, but they are killer tractor engines. I've got an 8.3L in a FWA CIH tractor, and the combine, and a 5.9L in my payloader and haying tractor. They are great engines for power and economy.

Yes sir. Own the drop deck trailer also, and a couple grain trailers. My latest endeavor is to find a drop frame van trailer to convert to a toy hauler.

Our new neighbors son drives a semi and he had it in the driveway twice. I've always been fascinated with big rigs, I'd own one if I could! big bucks for that stuff you got there, I think I want to farm nowschmitty wrote:bb429power wrote:Do you own that semi posted above?

Nope not cheap at all. Nothing about farming is either. Both of them cost almost as much to operate as the income they make. Farming has become more profitable in the last couple of years and we seem to have some more good years ahead. The truck has always made some money in the past, but I am kind of specialized with most of the stuff I do. Not many people want to haul large round hay bales, but I haul a lot of them for whoever will pay the cash.

800-65R32 Michelins. Thanks anyways, we have lots of logging and such out this way, but those chains your talking about are huge and heavy. My buddy was telling me the other day about some lighter chains out there that use the round ring in the middle like a skidder chain but use a light weight cable to attach everything together. The problem would be putting them off and on as there is alot of road travel. My operator when I am not home is my dad and at 67 I don't want him wrestling with those LOL. Only problem is the really icy roads, but as soon as you plow down to virgin dirt or sod it hooks up really well.
