Holy Crap BANG (not a motor/car)

was at my brothers B-day party and we were sitting out side and a thunder storm rolled by.. and
SHIT BANG Lightening struck a tree in there back yard 20' from us.

we were sitting here
there was a wire around the tree (where the burn stops) that went to a beam on the patio we could see the burn marks around the bolt that held it to the post. My sister in law was sitting right there ( the gal in the yellow shirt, she is standing where the wire attached to the house and where she was sitting. Don't think it hit here directly but her arm felt real funny. froze a couple of brakers in there panel box blew out there back yard light.
It wasn't the tallest tree around but we or I figgured it was because of the wire around it that it was struck..

This is my big crap bang about 4 yrs ago. Big bang!

Wow. Never seen a picture of a tree that had been struck by lightning, with big strips of bark thrown off like that.

Its to bad ,it was a nice looking tree. We just took it down 2 weeks ago, the yard looks like its missing a tooth now.
