Performance wise in a street car or something of that nature the TKO 600 seems capable, what about in a working application such as towing?? I am really weighing out the cost of doing the E4OD with a new torque converter and Baughman controler ,,,,,,,,,,,, $$$$$$$$$$$$ and the TKO 600 which seems to be a little cheaper. I have a decent rebuildable 96 model E40D and I have everything from when the truck was an original straight stick so the conversion can go either way more worried about opinions on durability and reliabilty more than anything else. I don't have the TKO 600 but would think the manual would offer slightly better fuel mileage also.

Would the ZF factory tranny's be a better choice?? I know they make a 5 speed but not sure of the 6 speed.

I don't believe the TKO 600 is intended for towing, I'd be inclined to look at a ZF for a truck application and towing.

I think the E4OD you have would be awesome for towing. The baumann controller isn't cheap, and neither is a good converter, but I think you'll be happier with the torque multiplication of an auto vs. an unproven TKO/clutch deal.

Hands down a built E40D..............I got one here to freshen up for a buddy with a 7.3.....makes close to 800 rwhp and who knows how much torque................prolly twice that of a 6.7................ Laughing
