A460 block with 4.75" stroke
Is there anyone that have experience with a A460 block with 4.75" stroke is this to much stroke for this block or can it handle it with a mild set up 750 HP reving it to 6200 rpm. any input estimated and use is street/strip.
Thanks
Thanks

Why do you want to go to all the trouble and expense of a billet crank and A460 block for 750hp? Heck you could do that with any factory block and stock stroke.

The engine is already build and running and sits in a car that i was thinking I would purchase. And it is a billet crank in it therefore I ask if would hold up. Maybe it`s not a good idea to buy it. I dont know.

For only 750hp its way overkill, but to answer your question it will fit in the block with some clearancing.
But if the price is right you'll have one torquey SOB........
Also keep in mind at that stroke its going to be difficult to get pistons with a big enough dish to keep the compression streetable with most heads. The pin height is going to be in the 1" range with pretty short skirts and not much room for a street type ring pack.

Thanks for the replys the TQ is about 684 ft-lb and C/R is 11.5:1 runs on pump gas and I thought this would be something to grow with have potential but will it hold up maybe as dfree says it might be a overkill more replys appreciated the car is cert to 8.50.

Re: A460 block with 4.75" stroke
I wouldn't do it on a street/strip car.......Drag only is a different story. On the street the pistons won't last long. I'd do a 4.300 Stroke x 4.600 bore 572" motor.

Re: A460 block with 4.75" stroke
I can see what you mean not much ringland left with that stroke maybe I will pass on it but I liked the car and all the other things that was in it. the use for it would be around 1000miles street driving and 5-6 times in year each the track. Maybe I have to stick with my old Torino with a tiny 468 cui. Many thanks for the replys and advice`s

Buy the car and sell the engine and build one that is more to your needs.

Re: A460 block with 4.75" stroke
I have thought about that the problem is were i come from there is only mopar and chevys and they give me taunts all the time for driving bbf so I havent anyone to sell it to and I want to shut there mouths once and for all another crank and pistons would work also it have TFS Aluminum Heads, 75cc, ported and in the Torino I have A429 heads also ported 356/220 int exh almost the same heads I would like to have P51 and with (4.500)4.300 crank and 4.600 bore it will be 572 cui as dfree mention the same as you no (cheby572) and I cant stand that have to be bigger. And as you can see I live in Sweden so it have to be right before I ship it. have to sell the engine there and build a new in the US and change it there tough for me when I live here I guess I have to move LOL. I maybe can take the car up to a friend of mine Tore in NY also a member here and do the changes there. hope your understand my english can go wrong sometimes. And I saw that Lem have a input the engine is already build and running so that I was thinking from the beginning was that I could get the P51 from Lem and c.evans give them a little massage but if the shortblock wont hold up there is a problem any suggestions

Re: A460 block with 4.75" stroke
I built a 632 ci motor that used an A460 block and a 4.750" crank.
It was a mild race motor that I ran 6800 rpm. It made almost
1000 HP and I made a ton of runs on it. Some minor grinding
needs to be done to the block to clear steel rods. The big
rod angle is hard on the piston skirts and cyl walls.
