pushrod lenth checkers
About what length range should I be looking at? D1VE block (pretty sure but I can go check if needed for whatever reason), decked 5 or 10 thou (that's what the machinist said, never got an exact answer) D0VE-C's, Harland Sharps.

And I keep going back and forth, its a 71 429 block. The deck height is 10.3 or 10.32, I keep reading its one and then its the other. I think its a 10.32 block but decked .010 making it 10.31 and my piston to deck is .015??? My freaking gosh darn! Stack height is 10.295, I think its a flab nabbit 10.32 deck height block then. Pissed off at the machinist now...

You'll need something that will measure between 8 and 9" with ball ends. 8.55 is an approx "standard" lenght

Yeah, I still have to figure out my gasket thickness to figure out my piston to head clearance and compression. I know its a felpro kit and the head gaskets are of course for a 4.390 bore. Not sure on the thickness, I need to call them.Lem Evans wrote:No......you just gotta get a checking rod the lenght that Curt said.

I'm guessing .041 on the gasket thickness.

Soon, soon she will be ordered along with many (eh, a couple) other engine parts I would but this cam is exactly what I wanted, unless you got a bigger shaft than me. Then I may consider69F100 wrote:Justin you get a cam yet I sell my cam and lifters they are already broken in,I am going to get with Lem on a new solid flat tappet for mine.

Re: pushrod lenth checkers
I thought you hadn't pulled it up yet Been waiting all this time for nothing. You may have more lift and one more LSA degree, but I got more duration. Same rpm range which I never know for sure how accurate those are when they say this rpm to this rpm. Mine is supposed to sound really lopey, which is something I really wanted.

Re: pushrod lenth checkers
you got more advertised duration you only have 230 at .050" on int and exh Mine has 230 int and 236 exh at .050" duration with more lift if it has any more lope than this one it will have a hell of a lope.Just me I have tried the lunati cams and I don't like them as good as comp.I have the 292 .512 lift bracket master in my 351w it don't hit near as hard as it did with 280h .512 comp cam plus perform as good as comp.

Re: pushrod lenth checkers
They don't lope at all when you're up against the converter.

Yep I don't like the sound of it when it has a low stall converter in it.Curt wrote:They don't lope at all when you're up against the converter.
But isn't it lobe overlap that mainly causes the lope?

Re: pushrod lenth checkers
What exactly is it that makes it have that lope other than its intended rpm range? I don't want to be the guy that's like "but the manufacturer said", BUT the cam I had/lost was supposed to give that "lopey idle that so many people love to hear".

And Jim, does the fact that your .050 duration is about the same and the adv. duration is lower mean that it is a more agressive lobe angle?
