Re: DOVE HEADS MILLED
weakens the deck and sealing of the chambers.
Plus at .100 you will be well into the valve seats.

Not sure what it is but there is a formula as to how much to take off for each cc you want reduced. Every setup is different with the valves and what not.

Yes you can shave up to.125. if the head can handle it. My personal DOVE's are cut that far. The intake valves on the high side will seat higher than the deck. In other words with the head assembled about .150 of the intake valves will touch a straight edge with it laying on the deck.
Of course you'll have to cut the intake side of the head or intake manifold, elongate bolt holes. But yes it can be done. And yeah it works well. Just take your time with them.

Re: DOVE HEADS MILLED
My D2ve's were milled over .100 and all the valve margin was above the deck. 13:1 compression and 10 years of running the crap out of it and 175 shot of NOS on it to boot. I have never seen the deck to be a problem on a BBF 385 cast head.
With your deal being a vacuum rule deal, you need all the compression you can get. Sneak up on the piston to head clearance, Just watch the piston to valve clearance. wide lobe sep vacuum cam you may be ok.
