what is the advantage or what do u gain by useing a 6.800 instead of a 6.605 on a stock crankshaft... i understand u use different pistons...

In my experience, yes. For example, an H beam Eagle rod in the 6.605" length versus a 6.700" or 6.800" Chevy style rod is actually heavier than the longer Chevy rod. So, coupled to the piston weight savings, it is significant.

longer rod can be a advantage for that must run small port heads

I run the 6.800 eagle rod with the 3.85 stroke I like the smaller rod bearing and smaller wrist pin which is also lighter.

Lighter piston
Smaller diameter rod journal

Better off putting more stroke in it.
