spacer length behind balancer on crank snout ?
using a stock crank with Sfi romac balancer
i know i have seen some have to be machined , wasnt sure what the length needs to be

i have a steel one that was going to be used on previous build i got , for some reason i think it needed to be shortened up

thats why i was wondering i thought for some reason i read on here ...could be wrong and prob am that some get shortend

The Innovators West dampner I got from Lem does use a shorter spacer, seems like .250 inch or so, but Lem would know for sure on the exact length. So maybe other brands would be the same situation.

Long OE snout with a "normal" balancer like that...

The stock length space is ~ 2-3/4" as best as I can remember.

Do you have a stock balancer you could compare the height to? If they are the same height or shaft lenght, I cannot see any difference, unless the wheel where thicker and rubbing something on the back side.
