I have only ever been a spectator but Drag Week is awesome. Hats off to anyone who can drive their car 1000 miles plus race it 5 times that week and put down any sub 10 second number. I will be attending for sure if it is back in this area within 350 miles.

Re: drag week 2011
you can runn a best of 10.80 in DD so the trick is to tune for the week. if your car will run a 10.80 u would want to take some timing out so it will run 10.95. because the last day when you make the final 32 cars for DD they will dail your car for 10.85. thats right they set your dail in time 1 tenth lower for the bracket race finale in DD. u dont want to show your cards leave some in your pocket for the finale because the rest of the field will. hope to see you there will be a few bbf there and it is a blast the racer r great a sport and will all they can.'65 T-BOLT wrote:I be headed to drag week this year! Re: drag week 2011
me and a friend are getting ready for drag week. location has come out to start in kanas . about 1000 miles one way. so with 1000 mi. out 1000 back 1200 for drag week loks like 3200 to 3500 miles. at $4.00 a gal. and 10 to 12 pulling the car and 10 to 12 driving drag week. its around 350 gal. of gas $1400 for fuel so my $1500 dragweek is more like $2500 this year hope can afford it

I have a 93 4x4 crew cab 460 w/auto od...and a build 347 in a 65 Falcon...we hope it will get 15 mpg...but we are not holding our breath...see you there!

Re: drag week 2011
my 52 f1 has a 472 and overdrive but is still a pig on gas. cruising @ 60 its about 1900 rpm and fair on gas. problem is the route dragweek uses between tracks is 2 lane stop and go. where hi stall converter eat gas. but with a few tracks over 300 miles apart they may i hope throw in some eway.
