Tranny brake guys...help
Ive got a huge red light streak going and I need some help to get it stopped. Im letting go of the button when I see the last yellow. Im getting .0xx to .00x red lights.
When do you guys let go of the button? Any tips or tricks to try?
Thanks, Mike

try shallow staging this will give you a little more time if that does not work try adjusting the button on your transbrake if you have an adjustable button if not buy one.

I'm guessing your on a .500 tree since you say your leaving off the bottom bulb. Do you think you might be going red from the anticipation of seeing the other bulbs flash down first? If so does your track allow you to use any kind of blinders to block out the rest of the tree?
An adjustable button can help some. How much depends how red you are going, and if the red is a consistent number each time. The button isn't going to help much if your "reds" are all over the place.

This is a very true statement. You have to be consistant with what you do and then, adjust the car to you.DILLIGASDAVE wrote:The button isn't going to help much if your "reds" are all over the place.
As far as adjustable buttons go, I've used the Biondo "Terminator" with great results and would recommend it to anyone that bottom-bulbs.
Some other things you can do to keep it green...
-Lower launch RPM.
-Let some air out of the front tires or, go to a taller front tire...this will give you some more rollout. (I have ran as little as 16# before...probably not the smartest thing I've ever done but, sometimes ya' gotta do what ya' gotta do to win...lol.)
-Let some air out of the back tires...this will let the sidewalls wad a little before the "hit".
-As stated above, stage as shallow as you can but, do it consistantly.
Hope this helps....

Treeya, Damn we was just talking about this stuff. Just be consistant on where YOU let off and adjust the car to that. If it takes all the above post to do that, that's what you got to do if you want to be be a winner and that's the bottom line. Stage as light as possible flicker the bottom bulb and set the brake and send the chevy boy's home!!!!!!!

You might look at this tranny button here ( the 4th one down). Scott southern has one in his car and you can adjust the throw by moving the collar up for quicker or down for slower. I didn't get the chance to get back with you this weekend as I think you were running two classes.

Lowered the launch RPM to 3500. It kept the front wheels on the ground, which seemed to help. Went .005, .021, .024 and .194. Guess which round I lost? Didnt help I went 9.94 on a 10.0 dial. I never caught the guy as he went .009 and 1 hund. off his dial.
Thanks again for the help, Mike

Find a happy medium between that .005 and that .021...that should go rounds anywhere in the world in No-Box...mico wrote:Went .005, .021, .024 and .194. Can't wait till you get everything certified. This car is going to smoke a lot of people. And pictures don't do justice for this car. You have to see it in person.
