Here's a few pics of the broke POS at the Ford Thunder race. We worked hard to get it there only to strip the teeth off the flexplate and damage the starter. I brought it home and rolled it the shop and haven't looked at it since.

Thanks guys! It will be finished. The painter has started back on the bed sides, but I haven't worked on the starter problem yet. I am still researching it and planning what to do. I think I'm going to pull out the drivetrain and strip it down of all it's components for paint. Then, while it's out, I'm going to really check out the starter position and gear alignment with a new Meziere bad-dog starter and a new flexplate. I am going to try 24v to start to reduce the chance of kickback and help this picky EFI computer stay sync'd up. Also going to install noid LED's on the dash. One to show the injectors firing and one to show when the coils are firing. That way, I can see if the EFI is sync'd and firing. If they are not, I can quit hammering on the starter.
The main problem is the 16:1 CR. I guess I could always lower it to 10:1 and put twin 88's on there.... It would start easy then, lol.

Collecting dust cause I lost interest. The painter is lazy, so he may have to be fired soon and the new Meziere starter and billet flexplate is going to cost $1000, so it's just sitting there for the moment.

Hang in there Dave...it's easy to get discouraged, I know. What you are doing is challenging and costly. If it was easy everybody would be building a truck like yours. Stay after it bro....

Keep your head up Dave... It can be a looooong tedious road at times, but if you get flustered, just step away for a little bit, and it'll be there waiting for you when you're ready to get back to it...

Nothing new. About two weeks ago, the painter called and said the bed sides and tailgate were primed and ready and to bring him the doors. I carried him the doors, but haven't heard anything lately. Truck is still sitting here. I just put in an inground pool with a 3000 sq ft cement patio, so that has been been taking my time and money.

Nothing new to report. I have my parts back from the deadbeat painter; they are not painted. I do have reservations at David Lemmond Race Shop to have a few loose ends finished. I am getting David L. to make sure the body panels fit good, install tin over the trans to be legal and safe, fix the bumpsteer issue, and give the truck a good going over to make sure it's 100% ready for the track and the painter.
I still have to buy a starter and a flexplate, but that's nothing but a phone call and some $$$. I would like to have a poured seat. I may have to take it to jerry Bickel to get that done. While it's over at DLRS, I may get Alan Dudley to try and fix the hard-start issue it has, which we now think is the ignition system not strong enough and the crank signal isn't smooth enough. If all else fails, I will put the MSD 7531 and the mechanical injection on it and be done.

David hasn't been on here in a while, I may call him and check up on him. Get him to update us. I know it is close, but he has been very busy with his business.

I hope to start working on this deal again this spring. I will start with buying a flexplate and a starter and see if it will run.
