Intake gaskets
I put on a set of Victor intake gaskets......been battling a miss finally found out it was the intake leak on #1. I have Ford SCJ Heads and a Edelbrock Air Gap....these looked a little small and I didn't notice it when I put it together. Any recommendation on what brand to use?

I like my Felpro 1231 gaskets. Use a little rtv around the water holes as extra measure and no issues for me!

Re: Intake gaskets
Victor Reinz 95074SG are the best . I got onto them by guys recommending them on here .. The 1231's are only for short term use , junk for extended use .

valley pan style intake gaskets
I've had a question about intake gaskets for quite some time. Since cooler intake air is a good thing, why not use a heat shield (valley pan) like what was used in the OEM 351M, 400M, 370, 429, and 460 applications???

Re: Intake gaskets
Always used the 1231's. Had lotsa problems with gasket tears and leaks. Went to 1231 S, with the metal sandwich design this year to see how they hold up.

I get them from Carquest in the U.S when visiting there .. .. Never seen them local
Cost was $42.39 for the CJ ports 95074SG and , small port 95109SG $38.98 purchased from Carquest , Orange California
Will see if i can find the links to the older forums that had all the info.. The 1231S with the steel core i believe would work ok. The 1231 gaskets are apparently teflon coated to not stck for easy regular removal, and problem is if left on for any length of time they creep between the smooth aluminium surfaces and leak.. So far the Victor Reinz gaskets have worked great for me .

X 3 on the SCE gaskets. I've never had any problem with them and Lem has them in stock for the SCJ, A-460 and C-460 heads.
