300# lighter than Piillip's deal.....if you want to give him an engine he will take it.rmcomprandy wrote:Who's car is Ellison driving...? If it's his, we all gotta talk him into FORD power.
Ellison drove Phillip's hardtail dragster at the 1st Bash.....if you will remember. It had the 605" from my jet boat in it.
Re: Oakley at Charlotte...T/D
Ha Ha I said that to him at Bowling Green last Sunday....Not gonna happen.rmcomprandy wrote:Who's car is Ellison driving...? If it's his, we all gotta talk him into FORD power.

Anyone notice that Phillip is 4 mph faster than the #12 qualifier. That seems like a big spread for almost the same ET.

That's not unusual. For example the #29 qualifier is 7 mph faster than the #19 qualifier. If you study the qualifying page, it happens all over the list. It really kind of depends where the driver activates the timers for the nitrous and how long they keep it on.

Sullivan, Oakley and Stott are all still in after the 1st round. The odds for the BBF camp just got better.

The Stott kid has a '67 Mustang T/S car that Rick Jones just finished for them. He's been 4.40's in it testing with a Thor head 706 built by Fulton. I'll try to post a pic of it. I believe it's one of the prettiest race cars I've ever seen. His family owns a Ford dealership.

Sullivan won........no show in the other lane [broke during the burnout].
Phillip ran under.014 for the [L]. wasted a .007 light.

Thanks Lem. I watched 40 TDs quailifing yesterday, and only 2 with very large motors and juice broke the sub 1.000 mark

You're right Lem, Harold is his grandpa. He worked with Bud Moore for a long time. I believe at one time all the street Ford vehicles used by the NASCAR teams came through their dealership. I really like Harold, he's a hoot. Got a great family too, Robbie and Dylan are good people. I'll start a new thread about their T/S car.

There is a lot of stuff at work in 60'.
Examples:
1] hard tail or swing arm car
2] aluminium or iron block
3] 179# or 279# driver
4] 4.500" or 5.00" stroke
5] Spray on at .150 or .400 out
6] Lots of other stuff
I B.S. you not about B. Small's 60' times.
Re: Oakley at Charlotte...T/D
The engine Mr. Small has was orginally done with a fabbed T.R. and two carbs. Bobby bought the engine w/o the induction system.Curt wrote:Thanks Lem. I watched 40 TDs quailifing yesterday, and only 2 with very large motors and juice broke the sub 1.000 mark
The engine now has a C460 1 X 4 manifold attached using one of Charlie's spacer kits & one QFX 1450 carb [Profiler heads]. Phillip and I both are of the opinion that the 1 X 4 thing is the better thang for 330' times. Then again.........it's just an opinion.
