Good jet & air bleed starting point for 8896-3 1050 dommy
I never tried a dommy carb before, this is going on my 472" with non ported scj heads with only the intakes backcut, diamond flattops, victor 4150 using the hvh 4150 to 4500 spacer (depending on how it works i might try the new 4500 tfs intake) the cam is solid flat tappit 260-268@.050 637-648 lift , the car is a 84 fox and will be 2600lbs with driver,390 gears, 4k stall & non brake c6 any info for a starting point with the carb would be a great help.

Every car & combination will be different; run it first the way it is ... you have to know what you've got as to it's deficiencies in order to make it improve.

The Factory Bleeds, 94-96 jets and no power valves should be a good start on that combo (I've had past 466's that are similar) IMO, But Randy is correct you will need to Tune it further to get it right, theirs no one magic tune.

Duh Melvyn this is for the dommy seeing how i never touched one, and yes i always jet them to find the sweet spot but needed the factory jet size to start with being i got it used. The carbs i have to try are the dommy, a aed 950hp i built with billet base plate and blocks, a aed custom 4150 1030 to try plus Mel said i can try his new custom bad azz pro systems 1000hp with dommy blocks on it. Thanks guys

The 8896 3 circuit dommy is only designed for idle and wide open throttle........designed for cars leaving off of a transbrake. The intermediate circuit will be very rich at part throttle........so much so that it will foul plugs if used any length of time.
I have mine set at 91 jet squared no power valves and the air bleed for the intermediate circuit removed.
533 deal eldelbrock heads solid roller 13:1 comp
Hope this helps......if you want to be certain invest in a wide band AFR monitor.

Thanks did you remove the intermediate circuit because its a footbrake car ? and does that help with the fouling plug thing ?

I'm at 88 square on the jets, no power valves. Idle air bleeds .053. Intermediate bleeds .089. Main air bleeds .040. Stock Intermediate bleed was .063 and it was way too fat for my footbrake car.

Well they do say these motors love fuel John Dickie owner of AED said a 1100 cfm dommy would be the ticket for my combo, thats why when i found this carb with little run time for 300 i bought it. And which ones are the idle ,main and intermediate bleeds ?

ones closest to middle are high speed the intermediate is in the middle and the idle air bleeds are the ones closest to the outside

I wonder if theres any use trying the 1050 seeing how i cant footbrake it any higher than 2500 with this converter ? the jets are 91 squared without pv and i took out the intermediate bleeds.

I do it all the time. I can't hold my converter over 2500 on the footbrake either. Throttle response has always been pretty good with my combination. Its even better with the large int. air bleeds.
