Drag Week Project
A few months back on the other forum I posted about my intention to run HOT ROD Magazines Drag Week.
Well its been a tough (and expensive!!) slog but I think I'll make it. (Note to self. No more 3 year projects done in 10 months!)
So if any of you guys are in the area(s) come out and say Hi.
Sun. Sept.13 Muncie Dragway Albany IN. Reg and T&T 10am-4pm.
Mon. Sept.14 Muncie Dragway Day 1 9am-2pm
Tue. Sept.15 US131 Motorsports Park Martin MI. Day 2 9am-2pm Note they have us staying in Plymoth MI this night.
Wed. Sept.16 Summit Motorsports park Norwalk OH Day 3 Noon-5pm
Thur. Sept17 National Trail Raceway Hebron OH Day 4 Noon-5pm
Fri. Sept.18 Muncie again Finals 3:30pm-8:30pm
Look for the DP90 "painted" (black primer) 1957 Ford Custom.
Cheers,
Michael.

It sucks that the finals are Friday...that is the same weekend as the NHRA Div. 3 Bracket Finals in Indy...which is where we'll be.
I'll be sure to stop by and say hey at Muncie though....Good Luck and make us proud.

Re: Drag Week Project
Sorry no pictures at the moment. Soon I hope.(Long sad miserable story.)
Build is a 1957 Ford Custom that had been in various stables, barns, sheds and lean to's for some 37 years before I started on it this past November. 'twasn't pretty!
429scj bumped to 521,a429 heads,comp roller,10.5ish c.r. backed by a c6 and 3:90 gears. Basiclly took my 466 S/G engine,bumped the cubes and dumped the c.r. by 5pts.
Running Big Block N/A or Dailey Driver. Will depend on how much I get done over the next couple of weeks before I have to leave.
LImited to 11.50's at the moment (no bars) and not much tire under the car. I feel I'm bringing a butter knife to a gun fight!
To far to come? Well I can understand,it's about a 5062.2 mile round trip to and from the starting point, not including the race portion!
Cheers,
Michael.

Re: Drag Week Project
As a matter of fact finished the car this evening (8p.m.), done packing and will be hitting the road in a few hours!
Only 1 border stop and nine states to go!
However there is one small issue, car wants to go down the road sideways with white smoke coming from the rear tire area?! Hmmm.
Cheers,
Michael.

Re: Drag Week Project
Ben,
Yes the black one. The turbo project (the blue one) went on the back burner so I could do this car, should have spent the money and finished the TT/57 I think I'd been further ahead for less money.
Then there's those boxes that came from Mr Kaase in July (care to guess?). Yes I have an illness! Isn't plastic money wonderful tho'!
