Does desired quench distance change with compression? Does a 9 to 1 eninge require the same quench as a 16 to 1?

Provided you have an effective quench distance, compression ratio in-and-of-itself is not a deal changer in the quench distance.

Short block is together piston is .017 in the hole. I would rather run a stock type gasket, mainly because of the stories I read about cometics leaking on a less than perfectly machined surface.
